Planning, organizing, leading and controlling are the critical responsibilities associated with the management process in an organization. The case of Plant Fantasies Inc. highlights these roles. One of the main components that emerge as the building block for the success of the management process in relation to the roles of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling is effective communication. Effective communication is an important part of an effective management process as it helps to unify company-wide efforts effectively to help in strategic objectives of the organization (Williams 5). This leads back to Plant Fantasies Inc. Planning, organizing, leading and controlling are the critical responsibilities associated with the management process in an organization.
For the case of Plant Fantasies Inc., an important lesson presented is that the elements of management relate to the company goals and mission as well as the people involved in the organization. This is because the management process involves the recognition of the roles and contribution of others (Chang et al. 58). For companies like Plant Fantasies Inc. that operate in a competitive and unpredictable environment, the management process is based on effectively communicating to bring stakeholders on board to foster innovation and creativity.
An effective management process relates to the aspect of leadership in which informed associations are established to enhance knowledge, expertise, and behaviors within an organization (Ashu 25). Effective management based on leadership helps to mobilize the employees to make contributions towards the company goals, and this relies on the aspect of managed communication. Managing communication simply means adopting a communication strategy that is effective and incorporates items such as right channeling and open information exchange process (Williams 15). This helps to build strong relationships based on openness and a listening character. Leaders are thus expected to be good listeners and team players to demonstrate appreciation for the contribution of the employees.
Controlling is also an important function that relates to the management process. Controlling involves monitoring the activities of employees, determining whether the business is headed towards the desired direction, and making necessary corrections that will help in addressing uncertainties. This can be done by managers interacting with the employees objectively. Effective communication is essential in the management process as it will assist managers to carry out their jobs and responsibilities and facilitate the development of action plans for improvement (Williams 16). In addition, collaborative communication relates to higher creativity and innovation and thus forms the core of Plant Fantasies Inc. management process.
