In this report, personal assessment and experience about the Yoga practices are discussed. It illustrates about different Yoga practices postures, poses and breathing exercise. The report is structured in a way that it provides a brief introduction to Hatha Yoga and the movements involved in this yoga. Furthermore, the report provides a discussion of the way this type of yoga can be promoted.
Introduction to Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a different type of yoga that involves different physical techniques and yoga that are influenced by Hindu tradition gods namely “Shiva”. It involves different physical exercises and positions that stimulate functioning and improved the balance within the body. However, there are different health benefits of yoga that is combined with the different physical movement, breathing, and mindfulness to increase the energy level muscle toning and relieve the pain in the body as well as improving the blood circulation.
Hatha Yoga is inspired off Buddhist and Hindu traditions, but it has emerged to be one of the most modern and ineffective yoga that has gained attention over 20 million people. According to research conducted by Yoga Journal, it is reported that 8.7% of the people who are practicing yoga are interested in trying Hatha Yoga because of its health benefits.
This branch of Yoga has emerged to most effective and modern type of yoga. Now, people are willing to practice this Yoga to boost their energy level and improve the performance in the assigned tasks that relate to their daily routine. It is essential to maintain balance and positioning while exercising such type of Yoga.
What Yoga practice do you find the most enjoyable?
I have experienced a different type of yoga postures, however, among these the most enjoyable yoga practices were meditation and warm ups. Solar and Lunar breathing was one I enjoyed the most. This breathing exercises “Asanas” in Cobra and Child posture I was able to feel that the stress in my muscles was relieved. Also, my blood circulation was calming, and I was able to control my nervous system.
I was able to focus more on my calmness and inner of awareness. The flow of blood level and breathing with my little finger extended enabled me to stimulate my mind and cardiovascular circulation. Also, I was able to feel that the anxiety and density in my body were draining and I felt lighter.
One of the most common styles of Hatha Yoga that I enjoy the most was bending down and breathing and stretching my head towards the Sun I could feel the spiritual alignment and calmness in my body. I was able to feel energy centered in my body with positive spiritual vibes.
The exercise of mind is also essential in our busy life. We need calm and relax to sharpen our mind and to focus on other works. Mind freshness is possible only when we forget all the tensions of life and make our mind empty for few minutes.
I felt enjoyment when I exercise “Asanas” and noticed that it was enjoyable. However, it was difficult to relax the mind, but I succeeded in managing and deleting all the waste materials from the mind and tried to get a fresh breathing from the air. It was exciting and enjoyable as I was expecting that it would not work according to my observations.
It is better to get an experience rather than focusing on the comments of people who tried it. I was surprised and happy by getting such kind of calmness and relax in the internal parts of the body. It was amazing to get rid of all tensions in few minutes by diverting my mind from the world. The entire body was quite energetic, and I was ready to focus on the task assigned to me that day. I continued the same behavior for few months, and it was really interesting that everyone was noticing a positive change in me.
My colleagues were surprised to see such a change and ask me to tell them the secret of such an amazing performance. They were also surprised that how could a person remain healthy and fit by giving few minutes to his health. There is a popular proverb “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. I have prepared another proverb that is “Hatha Yoga keeps the doctor away”.
In what Yoga practice do you feel most accomplished?
Among all the other Yoga postures I experienced, I felt most accomplished in the sun postures “pranayama” and basic Asana postures. Among all the postures, Child posture was the one in which I felt most accomplished. One of the reasons that I felt most accomplished in this position was because I was able to maintain the control of my body.
Moreover, I had a complete control of my body, mind, and my breathing was in a flow. I was able to balance my body, my breathing as well as my mind one. I felt focused, and concentration was centered which I believe is the most important aspect of yoga. I felt myself clean and pure in the Child Position because I could remember the baby in the womb. I was able to concentrate on the positivity and calmness that I was able to experience through exhaling and inhaling in this position.
The other reason that I felt most accomplished in this position was because the breathing and mind were collaborative and aligned. I was able to feel the movement of the blood circulation aligned with my breathing that ran throughout my digraph. In this position, I was able to feel my legs my spine and my neck relax as if all of my stress was leaving out of my body with my eyes closed. I was able to focus much spiritual relaxation that I felt when my spine was curled up to my stomach. I was able to control my breathing meditation my balance of my body.
With each exhale I was able to get a smile on my face which was joyful and relaxing. The balance of my body and breathing was centered which I felt was the most important point in the heart of yoga. The experience I had practices these postures made me feel relax because I could feel that the strain from my muscles was exerting out.
Since the posture was very easy and simple, I was able to focus more my inner strengthens. I was able to learn more able the breathing and mind connection was increasing with every breath I took with my eyes closed. However, I think that the background music selection plays one of the important roles when you are performing yoga.
The different instrumental sounds boost energy and increase your pace of focus. The rhythm of music needs to according to your mood. Hence, the constant change in the music enabled me to focus more and enhanced my mood. The control and balance of the body are the crucial elements in Hatha Yoga in which you need to focus on your position. However, the presence of mind in the activity enables a person to perform better as compared to focusing on other activities around us.
I believe that music increases the energy and interest of a person in performing the task, but the main thing is to focus on the positioning and balancing of a body during exercise. If you are not persistently focusing on the body movements, you would not be able to get benefits from Hatha Yoga.
In which Yoga practice do you feel least accomplished?
Though I have performed different yoga practices in the classroom and have learned much about it. The one I feel least accomplished were the balancing routine, such as flamingo style and other balancing movements. I think I need much expertise and focus on keeping the balance maintained in this type of yoga postures. Since I was not able to maintain the balance of my body I was more inclined to focus more on my posture.
There was less concentration on my mind and breathing which I was not able to cope during these postures. The lack of connection between my mind, souls and body was asymmetrical which I thought did not bring any calmness. I require more focus on the balance of the body before you perform these postures. I could feel the strain my muscles and tension in my mind. The energy I experienced to be the core factor and balance in my body was not the main emphasis.
Since there was a lack of concentration and lack of inner calmness, there were greater negative subconscious habits that were replacing my spiritual healing. Moreover, in these postures, it is important to understand diaphragmatic breathing. There are different areas that you need to focus; it should be smooth and steady with the movement.
The breathing needs to be aligned with the movement of the body that needs to be dealt through neutral response. The instructor during the classes focuses on the three different areas of Diaphragmatic breathing as the core factor to control the energy. At times, it was confusing for me to understand that distribution of the yogic breathing and how to hold my breath in that specific area.
It must be highlighted that there needs to be a focus on the movement of the body and breathing exercise. It is obvious that for doing exercise, you need a large area where you can freely move and a flat surface that ensures balancing. It will improve the stance and better results can be achieved.
The exercises other than breathing involve the movement of body parts and stretching of muscles, so it is not preferable to do them in the congested area where you feel difficulties in moving. However, a huge space such as ground or park but you can do it in a hall where there is a possibility of flexibility in the body. It is important to note that you should maintain the balance of postures while doing it as it is the basic requirement of the exercise.
In what Yoga practice would you like to have more experience?
The type of yoga I want to experience more is the classic Hatha Yoga. I want to gain my expertise in this yoga because it would allow me to improve my postures, breathing, mind and inner strength. The reason I want to experience it more is because of simple postures that enable me to focus more on my inner core strengths.
It has a simple structure that gives me more depth. However, I need to learn much about the yogic path to balance focusing on dimensions, structures and profundities using simple structures and postures.
Also, I would learn about Kundalini yoga because it is something that is very interesting. The use of different astrological factors to explore meditation in motion to connect body mind and soul enhances consciousness and transformation applying gained knowledge to increase physical benefits.
If Kundalini is induced, it increases flexibility balance as well as blood circulation. It feels it is motivating for one and a great path to increase self-improvement. Hence, I think hatha yoga will be the most preferred branch among the other yoga practices. For instance, lunar and solar yoga exercises follow the movement and structure of moon and sun that brings you closer to nature. Moreover, I believe through this I would be able to enhance my personal experience.
I need to learn more about yoga psychology in yoga practices that is the main error we make. By applying this knowledge, I can improve my expertise to overcome spiritual difficulties that one experiences. The reason I want to experience yoga again is because of the spiritual and the relief that you gained through balancing your body.
It enables you to focus much on your mind, and the breathing exercises help you to control the stress in your muscles. The muscles and the stretches enable you to explore your inner self. Also, it gives you peace and helps you to drain out all of the stress and burdens.
It enabled me to strengthen my muscles and relax the tension between my joints. I was able to emphasize on my flexibility that restored my mind body using simple poses and controlled my blood circulation with these simple poses. Unlike other exercises that bring more stress to your body and muscles Yoga is a very effective way to calm yourself bring inner peace spiritual benefits and relax your body.
It is one of the most important factors that bring me closer to yoga. I felt relaxed and the anxiety that I was able to overcome true yoga exercises. And like the other exercises I was able to experience myself in meditation with different breathing exercises that made me come closer and know the nature of the cure to your body. The inner core strengths are essential as it ensures the benefits that are associated with Yoga.
The breathing Yoga exercise is beneficial for people who are willing to remain fit and fine while not disturbing their body parts. In fact, everyone loves to do exercise that involves a slow movement of body parts such as jogging. You can do it by sitting on the floor of your room, and it will not consume much time. I experienced that it is the best option for people like me who suggest getting more by making fewer efforts. Also, it is the only way to get rid of tensions and hurdles of life and take a fresh breath.
How would you describe Hatha Yoga to a friend?
Hatha Yoga can be titled as a simple exercise that is useful to remain active. In fact, it is a simple exercise that involves movements of body parts and strengthens them. The exercise consists of lots of physical movements that are essential to remain active all the time. It increases the energy level of muscle toning and allows a person to remain fit and fine.
The exercise does not require high cost as it does not require any equipment. In fact, it is relatively low-cost exercise that increases the energy level of a person, and he would be fine in doing his routine. Furthermore, it does not cause pain, but it reduces the pain of an individual and those who are suffering from different types of pain can do this exercise and expect positive outcomes.
Just a few minutes daily and you will observe a significant positive change in the entire body. The important thing is that it involves fresh breathing exercise that gives freshness in the internal body. However, it is difficult to do exercise daily for a person who does not prefer to do it. It is an easy way to remain healthy and active, a preferable way to live a healthy life. There is no need to control the diet extensively, but you just have to do simple exercise daily to remain fit.
My experience was good to exercise as I believe that a person can remain healthy by giving few minutes to his health daily. Of course, there is no need for a heavy machinery or place to perform this activity. A park or even home is preferable to do the exercise. I think nobody will lose the chance of getting rid of different pains that may arise in doing routine work. Hatha Yoga is effective in reducing the muscle pain of a person.
In my opinion, it is not an exercise but a way to focus on your mental and physical health. I would prefer that one should start with it slowly and gradually increase the number of exercises to be fit. The fitness will help in reducing the number of tensions that arise during a routine work.
The life would become easier that a person will begin to work hard. Our body tissues need flexibility or movement to work, and it is the best way to allow our body parts (internal and external) to be strong and proactive. The positive outcomes of yoga are observed differently for individuals. However, it is continued on a regular basis then one can expect positive changes in his or her body.
I suggest assessing Hatha Yoga by starting with it as it is the preferable exercise that is done by millions of people in the world. I believe that it is not a traditional but a practical physical therapy that should be done by all human beings to reduce the threats of being lazy. I was completely surprised by noticing that Hatha Yoga has changed my life, and I feel more healthy and fresh as were before doing it.
The comparison allowed me to convince others that it is the only way to get a free, fine, and healthy life while working in the different environment. I realize that the life is busy in the modern world, and we do not have much time to do such kind of activities but believe me it is the best way to bring productivity in the work. You do not need to start with all the exercises immediately but just begin with breathing exercise as it is concerned as the warm up for every exercise.
