Just like in any form of government administration, such as the national government, the Florida State also maintains a system that is evidently run with almost similar concepts. This journal observation will analyse various current events attributable to Florida, Pasco County, Tampa and Dade City. I reviewed the official websites news especially the Tampa Bay Times and the Tribune where I observed certain events that are related to and can be explained using the concepts from political science.
Events such as the planned Tampa City Mayor’s Mac and Cheese Throwdown which is expected to take place on May 10th is an event which can be analysed as being part of efforts in maintaining public relations. For the mayor Bob Buckhorn to involve himself in such events, it is a clear demonstration that he is willing to bring the town’s administration closer to the people of this town. I also observed from the legislative body function that, for a certain idea in Florida to pass and become a law, it can do so as when passed by the house or the senate. Additionally, in case the governor vetoes (rejects) a certain bill, the bill is sent back to the house for further consideration. This is a clear demonstration of the concepts that we learn at school and its applicability in the outside world events.
In regard to Pasco County, there are also future events that I observed and are related to legislation and public relations with the members of the county. A good example is the call for applicants who will be willing to assist Pasco County in the identification and formulation of strategies and policies that are aimed at promoting affordable housing opportunities. This call to the public can be analysed to belong to diplomacy issues.
