Identify the role of the human-services provider in this intervention. Argue how this intervention versus other interventions is more applicable to this population.
Regarding the intervention provided “regular visits to primary care facilities” human service providers significantly contribute to the healthy growth of this population. Since military individuals undergo greater stress and trauma to get back to daily life. The daily visits would enable to diagnose the issue related to their mental or physical well being at primary stages. The integration of human services providers would increase the availability of the professionals that can counsel and advise patients timely rather than waiting for a longer period. It has opened the gateway for the health providers to specifically focus on the easiness and accessibility of the health care professional by developing the healthier relationship and partnership with the community, their families and improves personal health care need. It would decline the inclination of the patients towards homeless shelters or psychiatric hospitalization.
Include a discussion of this population’s unique needs and barriers to receiving care.
In the provision of primary care services, one of an adequate need is to ensure the availability of the professional staff. These patients have unique needs because of their military experiences that often make them rigid. The professionals need to understand their mental condition well, provide them the environment as well maintain the healthy relationship with the doctors. The potential barriers to receiving care include the factors related to the attitudes and beliefs of staff, clinical setting, experience and reach the ability to the healthcare services to the patients through primary care. Veteran community has a different need that needs to be incorporated into clinical setting and treatment to gain optimum results.
Discuss any modifications to the intervention that might make it more effective in reducing high-risk behavior and improve the veteran quality of life.
The necessary modification that can be brought in the primary care service for veterans is to increase its physical presence in a different region. For this contracts can be signed with the health centers in which the primary care service would be provided to veterans. Also, there can be immediate assistance, online complaints; advisory or telephone support centers that would be available 24 hours to veterans should be established (Williams & Thompson, 2011). There should be an inclusion of recruiting primary care psychiatrists and physicians for family support. Group sessions and other facilities should also be established to facilitate veterans.
