The company was founded by Jerry Baldwin, Gordon Bowker and Zev Siegl in 1971. The company was founded as coffee been roaster and retailer. Since the founding of the company, Starbucks has continuously grown where t opens approximately two stores per day. The company experienced extensive challenges and incurred some losses in the process of their operations. The losses were mainly at the expansion time of the company. The company earned exclusive profits from its global operations despite the extensive losses it would incur (Caudwell, 2011).
The operations of the company are coined around excellent corporate culture. According to the CEO Howard Schultz, activities by different individuals should not dilute the culture of the company. He also insists that the organization should have a common goal in its leadership. The company has exclusive leadership style that pays critical role in ensuring perfection at work. The company has close attention to the customers and partners who participate in direct execution of duties for the organization (Brody & Chang, 2008).
Starbucks Corporation recognizes customers as the most profitable asset they got. The company has exclusive concern of the wellbeing of its customers. As a result, the company has developed unique strategies to ensure all customers are satisfied and their needs are prioritized. The issue surrounding dissatisfaction of the customers mainly depends on the organizational strategies of the organization.
The management is in charge of all the activities that take place in an organization. They define the relevant elements that affect the customers and come up with new strategies to ensure that the customers are satisfied. There must be proper satisfaction of all the customers and their services must be executed accordingly. Customers of an organization may be taken care of accordingly through various ways (Brody & Chang, 2008).
The first critical element when dealing with customers is communication. To many organizations, communication is a major challenge. People do not understand the significance of communication and they do not outline the relevance of the extremely critical vice. Communication may take different forms and it must be treated with the urgency that it possesses. Customers need to be communicated to in the mostly reliable communication technique. There must be proper communication between the management and the representatives of the management with the customers (Brody & Chang, 2008).
Communication means existence of proper platform for discussion between the customers and the representatives of the company. There must be excellent definition of the significance of the occurrence of communication. Whenever there is a problem in the organization or in the process of undertaking activities, there must be proper communication strategies. The organization must be ready to communicate its concerns to the consumers who form the most critical section of the organization. If there are changes to take place in the production of the company, consumers must get the information at the right time. Through this step, the Starbucks management will keep the customers in touch with any change that may influence their activities. If there is, change in the type of products that the organization offers, communication of the change to the consumers is extremely vital (Caudwell, 2011).
Communication with the employees shows an element of exclusive concern. There exists paramount step the define excellence and reliability of the management to the customers. It defines the respect that the management of Starbucks has to the customers. This step shows that the management takes customers as key stakeholders in the activities of the company. The respect acquired through communication to the consumers is vital for keeping the business roll accordingly. Customers will always be willing to work with the companies that have exclusive respect for them. They must consider them as significant asset that plays critical role in running the business. Therefore, the Starbuck Corporation must be ready to resolve all the challenges that affect the communication between them and the customers.
The other organization issue that the company is trying to deal with is poor relationship between the management and the partners. For Starbucks Corporation to remain relevant to the business activities that it undertakes, it must practice exclusive respect for the partners whom it works with. Partners are exclusively important in any business as they aid in ensuring the dynamism of the business. They assist the business in the activities that seem hard and may be challenging for the company to handle on its own. The company has to exercise exclusive concern of these people since they are major determinants of the success of the business. They define exclusivity in the process of undertaking the activities of the business.
The company works with different partners and each of them requires exclusive respect and concern by the company. It is always challenging to find out how this works out for the success of the company. Some of the partners that had previously had issues with the organization are suppliers. There have not been extensive respect or concern for the activities of the suppliers. The management is not keen to execute meaning to the activities that it wishes to undertake. Suppliers are the distributors of the raw materials that are relevant in coming with the coffee that defines business for Starbucks. Therefore, there must be exclusive respect for the suppliers by the organization. There are various ways by which the respect may be exercised to the suppliers.
Since suppliers are major stakeholders in the success of the organization, they need to acquire necessary information concerning the activities of the organization. However, this is not the case at the current times. The flow of activities is not authoritatively definitive of this allegation. Suppliers are usually left out when defining or discussing the way forward in undertaking various activities in an organization. Suppliers can be heavily affected by activities that the organization undertakes without their knowledge. They may have to incur extensive losses of their resources as they try to keep in touch with the organization. Therefore, exclusive concern must exist in the organization concerning the involvement of the suppliers in making critical decisions.
The other partners that have experienced demerits of poor organization behavior are mergers and franchisers. These are direct partners to the organization and they deserve to have all the information concerning the activities of the company. However, this is not usually the case. Starbucks Corporation has not been sensitive to the relevance of proper communication with these people. Mergers and franchisers are companies or individuals with direct or indirect concern with the management of the company. They have contributed in various ways towards the success of the company. They define the excellence that is relevant to the success of the company at the current times.
These people have been segregated in key decision-making processes for the organization. Their information is no more relevant to the decisions of the company. This is an extremely expensive error and it may haunt the organization for the rest period of its existence. The uniqueness of meaningfulness must be present to the management concerning these parties. They must be involved in the decisions that are made everyday concerning the activities of the organization. This issue also revolves around communication, which is an essentially significant element for any organization that wishes to attract oneness with its stakeholders. It would be wise for the management to note that if these partners withdrew their efforts or concern to the activities of the organization, it would definitely fail and it would be extremely hard to acquire relevance through such moves. All undertakings of the company must be put into the eyes of all people involved in critical activities of the business (Harrison, 2005).They must be ready to acquire the relevance of being part of this mostly successful organization.
The processes that require the attention of these parties must be executed with the necessary seriousness or keenness as they define the uniqueness relevant to the running of the activities of the business. Some of them may be holding critical proportions of the organization and they define exclusive meaning to the success of the company. Therefore, there is no need of remaining ignorant of the highly critical elements concerning the success of activities in a given field. Communication and concern by the management to the critical activities of the organization must remain vital and useful to all parties involved in the process.
The other management issue facing the Starbucks Corporation is existence of indefinite organizational culture. The company fails in executing necessary undertakings that define the excellence of a business. There are certain principles that remain vital in execution of various duties in an organization. It is the duty of the management to ensure that there is proper culture to be followed and all stakeholders should be ready to undertake them accordingly (Harrison, 2005).
The organizational culture of the Starbucks Corporation should be out for excellent moves and should stipulate meaning to the stakeholders and define success for the entire organization. The culture of the organization may be divided according to the different challenges that are present in the daily activities of the organization. Initially, the corporation had exclusive concern for its consumers. The company undertook all the steps to ensure that consumers were satisfied and their worries were addressed accordingly. However, the situation has changed with time. This is excellent definition of culture alienation and it represents failure to the goals and the moves of the business. Also, the company had exclusive concern to the cultural value of partners. There existed massive concern of the worries of the partners while the company undertook certain activities. However, this is not the case now. Partners are not ready to extend their duties to the company. There is exclusive alienation of the partners in vital decision-making processes (Moran, 2006). Because of remaining inconsiderate of the effects of cultural values in the organization, there are closures of Starbucks stores.
The other management issue that Starbucks Corporation experiences is internal competition. The company operates numerous stores under its name. To have these stores operate accordingly, exclusive concern on management is required. However, this has not been the case in Starbucks Corporation. There are numerous challenges in terms of competition as defined by the specific stores. The act causes inadequate knowledge or communication between the stores to define excellence of the stores. The stores should operate in a systematic way that connects to the management principle of the organization. However, this is not the case. There are numerous cases concerning competition among the stores. This is indication that the organization is failing in managing issues surrounding the stores that operate under the Starbucks brand (Caudwell, 2011).
In addition, the organization faces extensive challenges in the leadership of the various departments within its operations. It should be clear among people that leadership is the driving force towards excellence of an organization. This means that every department of the organization should be keen on the management strategies that it executes. In different stores of the company there have been issues concerning leadership. There is extensive pain on how various issues are managed in different departments within the stores. There are no clear or reliable systems useful in defining proper leadership of the regions. People lack the extensive skills that would be useful in defining the change that is paramount in the department. Poor leadership in the stores would be extensively expensive to the entire organization (Brody & Chang, 2008). The reputation of the organization becomes infamous when there are issues surrounding the leadership.
Workplace conflict is the other main problem that surrounds the Starbucks Corporation. Although, the organization tries to define unique system that allows proper leadership in the organization, it has not been easy to follow up on the success of the leadership. Relationship between employees in the organization is a bit hard and requires exclusive intervention. From time to time, cases of disagreement between the management and employees arise and it becomes a bit difficult to deal with the situations since some of them are a bit sensitive. In different stores there have been reports concerning the disagreements among the employees and the pain that it causes among the employees as well as the management (Harrison, 2005). Internal conflicts are excessively expensive and they demand extensive concern to eliminate. Therefore, there is exclusive or massive concern on the issue as it may be excessively expensive to the company. The management needs to come up with exclusive strategies that help in dealing with the conflict. Once the company fails to deal with the internal conflicts, it becomes a bit hard to deal with the major problems that may arise from outside. Internal conflicts expose the weaknesses of the company and it becomes extensively difficult to deal with the conflicts that may be surrounding the company (Brody & Chang, 2008).
As an organization in global platform, there are issues concerning the employment status that must be dealt with at the right time. In the management, there are concerns on how people acquire employment in Starbucks Corporation. Some of them indicate that employment is becoming a platform of conflict among the members of the management. There are favors extended to different people in the company. Some people are considered critical in handling experienced individuals with exclusive knowledge on different areas related to the operations of the company. The inequality among employees is a major source of conflict among the employees. To the organization, the move is a bit expensive and if not handled accordingly it would cause massive loss to the company if they are not handled accordingly. There is need to execute exclusive concern on unique employment strategies that will equip the employees with the necessary strategies to influence development in the organization (Brody & Chang, 2008).
Starbucks Corporation also faces the issue of poor purchase behavior. The company being operational with an extremely high level of capital carries out exclusively high number of purchases. It is challenging how the management executes various purchases. The company deals with coffee products as the main element of business and it should be the concern of the organization to factor in proper purchasing strategy. Because of poor control of the purchases activity, there is exclusive opportunity of business failure. There will be guarantee of poor performance if proper management of the purchases is not guaranteed. Purchases are critical to any organization that trades goods. The raw materials have to be bought in the right manner so that they may fit the right purpose (Caudwell, 2011). Therefore, any issue surrounding the purchases should be handled with exclusive concern.
Organizational issues are sometimes unavoidable in any organization. There should be exclusive concern on how various organizations carry out their activities. It is through daily activities of an organization that weaknesses or challenges to the management are realized. This is an indication that there is need for exclusivity when dealing with different issues. Starbucks Corporation is one of the organizations that aim at eliminating the extensive challenges in the various departments within the organization. Various issues in the company ruin the repetition. The issues surrounding the organization are a bit critical and at some point, they are unique to the organization. The employees of the organization are at stake following the sensitivity of the issues that they face. The organization must be keen on the issues and deal with them accordingly. Necessary resources have to be employed to ensure existence of criticality of the matters at stake.
