This method helps in improving the performance of the employees, as well as the performance of the organization.
The group maintenance method includes the actions that are taken for ensuring the satisfaction of employees or group members, promoting harmony among the work associations, and preserving group’s social stability (Bateman, and Snell). The group maintenance method helps the leader to adopt those actions that promote satisfaction of the employees or the group members. By adopting the group maintenance method, a leader can focus on the comfort as well as on the feelings of employees. This method relies on the appreciation of employees as a necessary tool for motivating the employees and reducing their stress. Further, the group maintenance method also ensures that people can talk to their superiors freely and without any hesitation, so that they can accomplish their work in an effective manner. It promotes fair treatment within a group or organization, considers the benefits of employees in terms of the rise in pay, promotions, and future benefits. This method exerts a positive impact on the employees as it promotes their satisfaction, motivation, and promotes effectiveness within the organization.
Further, promoting collaboration within the group is also an effective method of managing, leading, and motivating employees. The method of promoting collaboration helps in the promotion of the positive attitude among the employees. The employees work with each other, as they can seek help from the other employee in case of any difficulty, and also they can have access to their supervisors. This method promotes communication within the organization, and because of the communication within the organization employees remain updated with the required information, and they can convey this information to those who are not familiar. Further, this method allows the employees to work for achieving a common goal, and to work in accordance with the strategy and vision of the organization for ensuring success. Additionally, it promotes fair treatment within the organization where all the employees are treated fairly by keeping justice and equality into consideration. It promotes coordination; make everyone accountable for his/her duties, to understand the emotions, feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and intentions of others, and pave the way to a friendly environment where everyone is free to ask the question regarding work, and can give and take help from others.
