Les Misérables
This research paper is recognizing a literature work, Les Misérables, which has been produced and read throughout history up to the 21st century using different medium of its conveyance.
Les Misérables is a French historical work written by Victor Hugo. It was first published in the year 1862. The work which was first published as a novel; it is considered as one of the utmost novels of the 19th century. The work looks into the extensive history of the France, the Paris politics, antimonarchism, religion as well as the nature of quixotic and familial love. It also recognizes the moral philosophy and justice of Paris. Les Misérables has been made known to many through a number of adaptations for presentation on stage, film and also on television. The adaptations on Les Misérables that are majorly recognized in history include a musical adaption from the Novel, and then a film adaptation from the musical adaptation.

The novel was first published in 1862. The novel Les Misérables is made of several many subplots. However, the major plot is the story about the ex-convict, Jean Valjean. Jean Valjean later becomes a mirror for good in the world, but the events in his criminal past cannot stop from haunting him. The novel is organized into five volumes while each of the Volumes is further divided into several books. For the English speakers, there have been various attempts to translate the novel from French; The Miserable, The Wretched Poor, The Dispossessed, The Poor Ones, and The Miserable.

Les Misérables (Musical) is an intoned through musical based adaption of the Novel, Les Misérables, by a French Novelist and poet Victor Hugo. The musical adaption contains music created by Claude-Michel Schönberg. The original lyrics of the music were done by Alan Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel. The song is supplemented by a libretto in English language by Hebert Kretzmer. Jean Valjean strives for redemption after serving for a jail term of 19 years after he was found guilty of stealing a piece of loaf from his sister's starving child. He attempts to break out of prisons. In the between the story, Valjean and his slew of characters are flown through a revolutionary period in the history of France; a team of young idealists show up their last stand in a street barricade.

The Les Misérables film was produced in 2012. The historical drama film is adapted from the Les Misérables (Musical). Misérables (Musical) was adapted from Victor Hugo’s Novel on the same literature. Tom Hooper guides the film while William Nicholson writes the plot of the film. It revolves around Jaen Valjean who had been a convict, but eventually rises to the position of a mayor and factory owner in one of the towns of France. The film develops a story on the basis someone loving a person and not to being loved back the same way. The film dwells upon redemption and commitment. Jean is fully aware that Javert who is a police inspector and tirelessly searching for law breakers is after him. Fantine, who is a worker in Jean Valjean’s factory later, is convinced her involvement into prostitution is Jean Valjean’s responsibility. After Fantine’s death, he feels guilty and hence consequently assents to care of Fantine’s illegitimate daughter, Cosette as he stuggles to escape Javert. Thereafter their lives reach a turning point for the best.
In conclusion, through its adaptations, Les Misérables has remained popular to a number of people. The adaptations include presentations on stage, film and also on television. The major adaptations of Les Misérables are the musical adaption from the Novel written by Victor Hugo, and then a film adaptation from the musical adaptation. Through adaptations of single literature into various forms, the original work remains relevant and convenient for conveying the original message at the present time.
