Analysis
Every literary work contains a message at the end. A Doll’s House has also been leaving an impact that her husband disgraces Nora. Nora is called with different digressive words, and her husband does not behave well with her. Entire play shows the superiority of Helmer, the way he treats his wife and talks to her. In the starting when Nora says, “Come here, Torvald, and see what I've been buying” (I, 4). Helmer replies, “Bought, did you say? All these things? Has my little spendthrift been wasting money again? (Ibsen 4-5)” What writer (Henrik Ibsen) wanted to show is, Nora is careless, and Helmer always oppresses her. The play overall focuses on independence of woman. A woman must not compromise with oppression she must be against that. The play does not clearly show that a woman must leave her husband, who oppresses her and live independently. The play gives a message of superiority of human and it condemns the oppression.
