The famous quote of Huffman was proved wrong by this film. This film shows how democracy was brought about by one man. The Tank Man as he is famously known, gave people courage and hope and joined in the ongoing demonstrations in the country. It is said that over tens of millions of people went to the streets days after the incident of the Tank Man was aired and published in the local and international media.
At the beginning of the film, the narrator can be heard saying, ‘the person was tired of the ongoing massacre, so he thought he had to do something about it’. As the film goes on, many people can be seen demonstrating, there is also a scene of which army men are seen as part of the demonstration, this shows how the struggle of democracy was important to the country at the time. The journalists were also not spared, there is a scene showing the journalist who took photos of the Tank Man saying he was ambushed minutes later after he took the photos. This shows the state of tension in the country during the period as there was no freedom to the journalists.
