Personal Statement
Samuel Hahnemann said, “The physician's highest calling, his only calling, is to make sick people healthy - to heal, as it is termed.” My deep respect for medicine as a noble occupation is leading me to apply for the hospital research in internal medicine, for the year 2014. I hold an M.B.B.S. (2010) from King Abdul-Aziz University and have successfully completed internship in multiple specialties to testify that my experiences have contributed to my professional growth and career selection. During the six-year integrated program with international medical training, I specialized in internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine among others, from August 2010 - July 2011, and was daily in contact with patients from various backgrounds and featuring a range of illnesses. Moreover, I actively involved myself in U.S. hands-on clinical experience for the period of 4 weeks on the month of April, in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, where I performed duties and diagnostic procedures supervised by U.S. physicians.
As part of my medical training, I also worked as Research Assistant at King Abdul-Aziz University, from 2007-2008. Right after graduation, I was offered internship in General Medicine at the University. Genuinely interested in community education, I will volunteer at the first of May with American Heart Association.
I intend to take full advantage of a research program and to advance my specific research and translate its findings into the progressive treatment of internal diseases, as well as interact and educate patients and train my colleagues in the field. My diverse international background signifies that I have a broad outlook and experience that helps me to sustain the strength of the mind and body and compassion to accomplish well and contribute to the success of a medical team.
