After working for one year in this company, I think I can ask you for the salary raise. I have many reasons for it. I would like to ask you to consider my arguments and inform me about your decision. I work here for a long time already and, I suppose, I have made only progress in my job. I would like to specify some points that I consider to be important and worth mentioning. Let’s start from the beginning.
When I began working for this company, I just graduated from the university, but by that time I have already had practical experience in the similar position. Now I understand that my education is a profound basis for this job; my excellent knowledge of two foreign languages and good understanding of the legislation relevant to the company’s business have greatly facilitated my adaptation in this company and further successful work. As you know, I was a perfect candidate for this position one year ago. During first three months of work I learned a lot from my manager, colleagues and due to self education. I was studying the company’s principles of work process, agreements preparation and negotiations with the customers. I enriched my knowledge in the relevant legislation and online tools utilization. I must admit, that even during the first three months of my work there were no mistakes from my side and the customers were satisfied with my servicing. As you know, other colleagues, who have worked for several years already, often face dissatisfaction of the clients and even lose some of them. Moreover, due to my hard work and innovative ideas, we managed to sign the contract with one of our largest customers. I was supposed to receive a bonus after that deal, but as I have not receive it, I think this fact also gives me a right to ask for salary raise now.
In April, my manager asked me to service forty accounts instead of twenty. I agreed with this assignment and I am proud that the quantity did not influence negatively the quality. Furthermore, I managed to arrange cross selling with three clients that significantly increased the profits received from them. At the moment, those customers are satisfied with my work and expressed willingness to renew contracts, expand our cooperation and one of them appointed a meeting with us for next Tuesday. I am sure and you would agree with me, that this is a result of my hard work during many months and I consider it to be one more reason to ask for salary raise.
Speaking about the discipline in our office, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that, unlike many colleagues in our company, I never came late to the office and, usually, I am the last person leaving in the evening. I take care about the safety in our office and you entrusted me the opening and closing the office. I never go home before I finish everything that has been planned for the day. Also, I never violate deadlines, and, when you give me any urgent tasks, I always complete them before going home, regardless of the time. I would like to admit, that sometimes it forces me to change my plans and leaves less time for my family and other activities. When we have any urgent projects, I never refuse to come on Saturday or Sunday and work as long as required. As you have noticed, not all our colleagues do it and many Saturdays I worked alone on the projects in the office.
In addition to my daily duties, I am frequently asked by you and my manager to do various tasks that do not belong to my area of expertise. For example, arranging meeting with the partners and organizing hotel booking for them, ordering Christmas gifts for our partners and customers, participation in charity projects, etc. I always find time to do the above-mentioned task in addition to my daily duties and reach the best results. I support any activities that are intended to increase our profits, extend the cooperation with our customers and partners and agree to do any work required for it. I would like to separately mention my work on the videos for our website with the colleagues from other offices. You may agree with me that the video turned out to be very good and it increased the quantity of visitors of our website and thus the number of new potential customers. Now I am working on one more video explaining the scope of our services and other useful information for the clients.
During the year I have participated in seven workshops. Three of them were related to the various aspects of work, such as contracts peculiarities, customer relations management and finance. Other four training were devoted to time management, leadership and negotiations strategy. All knowledge received at these workshops was extremely useful for my work’s optimization. Particularly, the improvement of several clauses of our typical contracts with the customers helped us to cope with the various disputes with them. Skills received during the leadership workshops facilitate collaboration with the colleagues while working on the projects. The basic knowledge in finance gave you a possibility to appoint me as a finance controller’s assistant and engage me in budget’s planning and its fulfillment in addition to my standard duties.
Also I would like to admit that I am actively engaged into the sales process and closely collaborate with our sales department on different sales initiatives and strategies. For example, I was actively involved into the client satisfaction survey in September. I helped the sales manager to work out the survey questions and design, to prepare all the customer information for its distribution, process control and results’ analysis. I am sure that the survey was conducted on a very professional level, as 85% of our customers took part in it. I should admit that all the time I was doing it in addition to my main duties and managed everything in time, including urgent tasks and projects with tough deadlines. Due to this survey, we had a possibility to receive customers’ feedbacks on our work. If we take only those clients that are serviced by me, we can see positive feedback. If to compare the feedbacks of my customers with the feedback of other colleagues’ customers, we can see that my results are significantly better. I suppose, this is also one of the reasons of the revenue’s increase during last several months.
I always make sure that I meet my daily goals. I never consider my daily duties to be the routine and never do the job mechanically. As you know, I always try to bring the added value to my job and this reflects on my results. At the beginning of my work, I was appointed to service several accounts that have been in jeopardy for our company. There were conflicts and bad relations with them. However, by means of my diligent work and profound knowledge of business ethics and crisis management, I brought the relation with those customers to the satisfactory level, negotiated and signed contracts with them, and now I am working on the expansion of our cooperation. If you compare our income on these customers one year before and now, some of them show up to 60% of increase. These facts confirm that I do really hard and fruitful work simultaneously with the strong personal and professional development. In addition to the goals that you and my manager set to me, I also have my own goals, such as adding the value to my work, improvement of customer relations, revenue increase, optimization of cooperation with colleagues, expanding theoretical knowledge of work aspects, etc.
As everybody could notice, I am always attentive and tactful with all our colleagues. I try to make a contribution to the positive atmosphere in the office, engage employees in the company’s goals and create a high performing team of professionals. As you know, many companies consider their staff to be the most important element of their success. Companies that do not have a strong team are always weaker than their competitors that managed to build it. As a result of good team work in our company, we have realized three large projects.
After conducting a small research on salaries level for the similar jobs, I have noticed that the average one is around fifteen percent higher than I receive, while the listed qualification are lower than I posses. I also asked my former fellow students, who now do similar jobs, and was informed that their salaries and employee benefits packages are better than mine. Therefore, I consider it to be the reason for salary review in the nearest time.
