Kenneth Waltz in his article, “Neorealism: Confusions and Criticisms,” explores various issues underlying neo-realism. Specifically, he addressed matters relating to theories. Moreover, he acknowledged that theories are often misunderstood, owing to this fact, confusions emerge. Over the years, people have got confused on what theories are, what they can do and what they can’t do; furthermore, all these confusions would be solved once and for all if people got to understand the structures and context of theories. Kenneth Waltz in a bid to make people understand what theories were went further to define what a theory is. According to him, a theory is just but a domain giving out a general overview of what things are organized; moreover, domain greatly relates to how the parts are interconnected. The primary point he elucidated was that a theory is an instrument used in defining the realm of activities undertaken. From his submission, it’s quite clear that Kenneth wanted to enlighten the people as to what constitute the reality and theories.

Kenneth Waltz’s contribution is very significant within the political landscape. The very issues he addresses pose a significant magnitude on the political domain. Principally, each and every activity relating to a political podium must be linked to a theory to make it more relevant; furthermore, a theoretical framework brings issues closer to reality. The way Kenneth articulates political issues is sound and quite pertinent to the doctrine of reality. To be precise, Kenneth argued that the structure of the world’s politics is closely linked to anarchy, according to him; it is the theory of anarchy that brings the structure of the world’s politics to realism. Moreover, perhaps to prove that anarchy adversely defines the political landscape, he goes further to make an assumption that the capability of distribution among the founding states. From a simplistic view, he was referring to anarchy as a system of governance.
Critique
Commentary
For people to understand and be able to distinguish between theories and reality, the two should never be mixed. A theory is just but a way of explaining reality, probably to give it more meaning. The general misunderstanding of theories could be easily eliminated if people were to acknowledge the fact that the two are quite different. Kenneth used anarchy in a context that relates to his intentions, when looked at from a literal point of view, the meaning would be totally distorted.
