It is the combined duty of the American government and its citizens to collaborate with the aim of minimizing or eradicating poverty. It is also the right of every American to achieve the American dream through earning a decent living, being able to cater for basic needs and to satisfy other needs.
The poverty rate has been on the increase in America over the years. The major contributing factor to the increased poverty levels is the Global recession that begun in 2008, which saw several Americans loss their hard-earned properties and jobs. Other parts of the world such as Greece and Great Britain are experiencing increased job losses as an aftermath of the global financial crisis. Among other problems, America has encountered hurricanes, which have destroyed the properties of hardworking Americans and rendering them helpless.
The government of America strives towards uniting families and encouraging united families whereby a child is under the care of two guardians, due to the benefits the child will enjoy psychologically, financially, and possibly end the cycle of poverty. The government also emphasizes on a quality education for all its’ citizens since this is the key to securing a good paying job, which in turn reduces poverty. The government also encourages increased foreign investment into the country and local business expansions since these are the key methods of increasing employment, as well as tax revenues.
No individual or entity is to blame for the problem of poverty that America is experiencing, economic crises come and go at certain times, and they affect all countries in the world. Disasters affect all nations in different ways and measures, but the last thing America can do is to give up. America has one of the most knowledgeable, gifted, and determined citizens in the world and a government that has effective policies to handle disasters, poverty, and financial crises. Therefore, all citizens should play their part in ensuring their better tomorrow, since a better tomorrow for all American citizens is a better tomorrow for the whole of the American Nation.
