Type A Behavior Pattern
Individuals with the type A personality are aggressive, impatient and have a hurrying sense of urgency. They have an excessive urge for competing against other people. They have a deep-seated insecurity and have a well-rationalized form of hostility.
Type B Behavior Pattern
People with this type of personality are opposite from those with the type A behavior pattern. These people are not aggressive and do not have a free-floating hostility like their type A counterparts. As a result, they tend to be stress free most of the time and are not prone to heart diseases as compared to the type A personalities.
Type C Behavior pattern
These people are often termed as hardy. They can survive the stressors of life and are not affected so much by the situations going around them. These people hardly fall sick because of everyday stressors. They are emotionally and psychologically stronger than other people are.
Type D Personality
These kind of people believe in the traditional way of life where men lead and women follow. They tend to avoid adventure as much as possible. Moreover, they are extremely accurate and orderly and seek to contribute to the society in whatever way possible.
How personality types are affected by real world situations
A type A personality, due to the constant aggressiveness is usually prone to coronary heart diseases. Such people may live shorter than the type B personality.
The type B personality identifies stress but does not react to it as aggressively as the type A does. These people are calmer towards life. Most of them live healthy lives and do not suffer from heart related diseases (Greenberg, 186).
A type C personality, due to their hardiness often survives through life as a witness of stressors rather than a victim. They do not allow the environment to affect their peace of mind and are very resilient.
The type D personality are more concerned about other people and the environment around them and always aim to make the world a better place.
I believe I am a type B personality. In as much as I am goal oriented, I am patient and understand that life is a gradually unfolding chapter and everything has its place and time.
