We would like to update you on the status of our project which is about employment opportunities at Hooters and Twin Peaks restaurants.
As a team, we identified Hooters and Twin Peaks as businesses that are of possible interest for your employment because they seem like interesting places to work and they appear to be growing in profitability. With their focus on entertainment, our team believes that these businesses will be interesting for us to research as well as be interesting for you to read about. In addition to being interesting, we also selected these businesses because unlike so many other places that downsized during the recession, these businesses have only grown, and this is an important factor for any job-seeker to consider.
My part in working on the project so far, aside from contributing ideas for the team as a whole (which is something we've all done), is to do some background research about Hooters and Twin Peaks, as well as help to define the goals we've set. The research I have done helped the team to understand what kind of businesses Hooters and Twin Peaks are. I've provided information on the founding of the businesses, the types of service they provide, information about the number of restaurants each chain has, their profitability, the businesses' target customers, what kinds of jobs each business offers, and general information about career advancement opportunities and benefits.
This research is of value to the group because it helps us have a basic idea about Hooters and Twin Peaks, but even more importantly, it helps us understand what other aspects of the project are going to require further research and work. For instance, although we have information from both businesses' web sites about careers and benefits, we also plan to interview employees and patrons so we can offer a more personal view about what working at Hooters or Twin Peaks is really like.
Overall progress on the project is going as scheduled. The background and standard research are complete, so now we must complete our personal interviews with restaurant employees and patrons. Within the next week, we will have completed all research and interviews, and following that we will be finalizing our report to include all of the data. All of the group members agreed upon a set schedule of meeting times in advance and have been very good about showing up, working together, and getting pieces of the project done on time. We have tried to give ourselves some extra time and focus to gathering the interview information from employees and patrons because while this may be one of the most fun and interesting aspects of the project, it could also be the most difficult. Since we have a well-developed plan, we believe this project will be done on time.
