Nursing can cause changes to the delivery of health care services. According to Nelson, Batalden, & Godfrey (2007), a change in healthcare services is essential in enhancing the health care results. However, there is a shortage of nurses in the U.S that is expected to rise, due to the increased demand of distinctive nursing services. Therefore, nursing colleges should train upcoming professionals on how to offer quality and improved approach toward the health sector.
Eventually, the nurses’ role in preventing some cases of infant mortality which has increased in the U.S is crucial. Professional nurses train in diverse environments and should acquire the skill to provide the right care to patients of different cultures. For this reasons, the dialogue between AANC and a wide representation of internal and external stake holders is taking place. The dialogue is concentrating on perceptions required by nurses in order to efficiently perform in this diverse environment and information. Nevertheless, the board of directors of ANNC in 2004 proclaimed that baccalaureate is the minimum level needed to qualify for a professional nursing training. Specifically, holistic nursing is extensive and majors on spirit body and mind. In this regard, the baccalaureate is a member of a profession who has a comprehensive knowledge base for practice. A professional nurse is also required to have the correct ethical values for practice. Besides, the generalist nurses focus on career planning and life-long learning.
