Readability
It has to be taken into reckoning that the book has a very good readability so as to appeal to the readers. The most intriguing aspect of the book is that the passages are very well supplemented by pictorial representations regarding the topic of discussion. This makes it very easy for the readers of the work to understand the matter that is being explicated. For instance, the writings and pictorial representation on the topics, Interaction of Living Things, Changes over Time and What Makes Me Sick are very lucid and appealing to the readers. The strengths of the Book
There can be no doubt about the fact that this book is penned for making the elementary students understand the topics of study with utmost ease. The pictorial representations are quite interactive in nature making for the strongest point of the book.
Weaknesses and the Challenges of the Text
However, if one to judge the weakness of the book, it can be said that some more explanation in words would have made the work better. So, the lack of explication in words can be described to be the weakest thing about the entire work. Nonetheless, the work can be taught to the student quite nicely. A teacher needs to adapt the interactive process of teaching while taking a class so as to be able to utilize the pictorial representations.
Recommendations for improving the text
The students can be individually made to relate to the text. The book is sort of self-explanatory for the novice learners. However, the other students who have an idea about the discussed topics can be made to interpret the pictures so as to make the process of teaching more interesting for them. Thus, it would be correct to opine that this textbook is quite handy for a good class and can initiate a healthy teacher-student interaction.
