In 1966, the United States federal government established a national social insurance program. This social insurance system is called the Medicare. Since then, there are more than 30 private insurance companies that makes up the program . The purpose of Medicare is to render financial assistance to people over and above 65 years who have actually paid into the system. In addition to this function, the Medicare has also been used to render health insurance for people with particular medical condition like end stage renal disease (ESRD), any form and types of disabilities and s health insurance to younger people with disabilities, end stage renal disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis . Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010
In March 23, 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 has been signed into law. The provision of this law was to mandate the people to get a universal health insurance and coverage. For example, the electronic medical records allow for accessibility, efficiency and strict monitoring. Through this technology, doctor would not need to physically get an access to the patient’s medical records. Instead, it can just be generated from a server to ne also helped.
Future of Technology alongside the Baby Boomers
Alongside the baby boomers, the two technologies that may have significant impact in the future is holistic treatment and prompt diagnosis using digital technology. Today, it is quite difficult to wait for results because it agonizing to be left clueless of the future.
