The topic I have selected for this study is how to improve the efficiency of distance e-learning programmes at Kent State University. With the recent increase in the demand for higher education, institutions of higher learning are forced to embrace e-learning in order to reach more students internationally and to improve the efficiency of their programs as a way of gaining competitive edge globally. Advancement in technology is now enabling students to enroll in higher institutions of their choices without necessary leaving their employment or home countries. The current learning and accommodation facilities at Kent State University cannot support the large number of students (local and international) who would like to enroll in the university for different courses.
Although Kent State University has embraced modern technology in many areas, there is still a room for improvement in distance e-learning programs in order to improve its efficiency in research and knowledge dissemination globally. The research seeks to analyze distance e-learning programmess that are offered by the university in order to improve them.
Discussion of Proposal
Proposal
After collecting data from different sources, the research will analyze it in order to understand inefficient areas that Kent State University need to improve in regards to distance e-learning. For many years, the university has focused on how to increase the number of distance e-learning students, but with little focus on the effectiveness of this mode of teaching in realizing its goal of research and knowledge dissemination.
Methodology
In order to answer the research question, this study will collect a survey from different participants who will be selected randomly from the university in order to collect their views on the university distance e-learning programmes. The sample size will comprise of 30 students who are already taking a distance e-learning course from the university, 15 non-teaching staffs from the university and 5 lecturers who are teaching in distance e-learning courses at the university. The researcher will send on-line questionnaires to the students and non-teaching staffs, who will be requested to submit them back within a period of 2 months. The researcher will seek face-to-face 30-minutes interviews with the lecturers at their convenient time. The data collected will then be analyzed using different statistical tools in order to draw the conclusion of the findings. The researcher will also review data from different online articles that are peer reviewed and addressing the selected topic.

Benefits
The findings of this study will provide crucial information that will help the university to improve the efficiency of its distance e-learning programmes. This is through recommendations that will be drawn from information gathered from all the participants. As a result of effective distance e-learning programmes, the university will be able to gain a good reputation among the students globally, who may enroll in order to get quality high education.
Timeline
The researcher will complete this project in four weeks or even earlier if the respondents submit their questionnaires without any delay. Two weeks will be enough to collect data, and the other two weeks to analyze it and write the final copy. The proposal has provided an outline of the entire project, and it is expected to be completed within that time frame.
