Google Back Ground
Google started as a research project. Its search engine analyzes the connection between different web pages compared with the techniques its competitors used of the pages that got more hits. As the members of the Google project team progressed with their research, they were convinced that their search engine was the best. It made them recruit more members, and that is how the Goggle Company developed (Steiber, 2014). Despite the many products Google has right now, its first search tool remains the base of its success.
Vision Statement
The vision of Google is to ensure that people all over the world get access to information in one click (Steiber, 2014). Its famous product is the search engine service. The service has enabled many users to access information from all over the world. It has many websites, which contain a lot of information. Its aim of easy accessibility of information has been achieved by the fact that all information is readily available for everyone. The one click idea is met by the company offering more innovative products to its customer, and that ensures that using Google is easier.
Mission Statement
Its mission statement is to make sure that all information available in the world is organized in a manner that is accessible and made useful. The vision statement and the mission statement are parallel (Steiber, 2014). The company organizes its information through its many programs. The ability to make the information accessible and organized creates the usefulness of the information.
Values Statement
Google also has some core values. The company always ensures that they hires the right people and expect a lot from them. They also encourage a lot of creativity in their employees so that they can always produce the best technology products in the entire world (Steiber, 2014). The organization also makes its employees enjoy every moment when they are at work. The value of commitment at work is highly promoted in its employees, and each member is required to be active always. The other core value of Google is that it never takes success for granted. Honesty and integrity are highly emphasized in Google; they believe that one should always do the correct thing. Doing the right thing has assisted them in enhancing and maintaining great products.
Management
In some few years back, Google experimented on an environment where there were no managers (Steiber, 2014). The experiment only lasted for few months before Google brought back the managers. The founders of Google later realized that the managers played an important role in the organization. For example, they helped the employees to prioritize their project, they ensured that the processes aligned with the company goals, they facilitated corroboration and career development among the employees.
The importance of Google's manager is that they help their employees in meeting their objectives in their daily lives (Kuratko, 2014). The managers also empower and facilitate inspiration to their employees. This type of leadership has some effects. The employees can change their parameters when they require because they are the onse who set the benchmarks. Employees are encouraged to be their own leaders, to evaluate their work and come up with a better idea to do that job. The workers feel responsible for the outcome of their project because they have a stake in the company (Kuratko, 2014). The sharing of visions and ideas between the employees and the managers in the company creates innovativeness among the workers.
Achievement of Google Members
There is a lot of achievement made during the era of Eric Schmidt as the CEO of the Google Company. For example, AdSense was introduced; this is a platform of advertisement for the websites. In 2006, YouTube was bought. It is a popular site for streaming videos. Another mapping service was introduced during the management of Schmidt. Despite all the achievements during that period, there were also some failures associated with Schmidt period. For example the failure of the Google wave which was one of the hyped product of Google. It did not discourage the employees at Google. Instead, the project was stored in their databases, and this can help in the invention of another new product.
Features of Google Employees
The employees at Google are much competence to deal with the rapid changes occurring in the environment due to the ability of the company to develop and integrate their competence. They are taught to have always a proactive change to approach. The company also uses the people-centric approach to its employees this enable them to liberate the innovative power in an individual. The act of removing bureaucratic features each year gives employees much freedom to and this facilitates collaboration and communication among members. The approach used by Google of people –centric enhances openness and transparency. Thus, this principle provides honest and trustworthy employees.
It is evident that the executive chairman shares with all the Google members what they had discussed with the board of directors. The talking involves mainly the product roadmaps and the launching plan. Projects of other members are also shared, and thus, employees become aware of what their colleagues are working on. The sharing of information shows that the management trusts their employees, and thus the virtue of trustworthy is enhanced (Weislowski, 2010).
