The aim of this paper is to analyze the components of effective training and career development program for Samsung. Two programs have been selected to analyze these components which are Time Management Training and Safety Training. The two programs are very helpful and effective to build a career of the employees and the employees stay connected with the organization if these two programs are practiced religiously in an organization.
Time Management Training
Time management is an important part of a person’s official work. The success of an employee is dependent upon the time management. If an employee can manage its time, then it means that they are efficient in working and have skills to perform a lot better in future. Samsung wants its employees to perform better under especially under critical situations and complete the work within the given time to avail the opportunities of the market. Samsung provides its employees with time management training programs in which workshops are conducted to train the employees. Proper training of time management is given so that the employees can work in an effective and efficient manner. By conducting such workshops, the employees can deal with issues like procrastination and interruptions (Fu, Yi, & Zhai, 2013).
After the training, the employees are highly motivated and are more determined to work as they are able to provide efficient results. Employees at the end of workshop even get a certificate that can be added to their resume. The workshop helps the employees to work better according to the conditions that increase their performance. It is also observed that the employees who are a part of the time management training programs are less stressful while working which allows them to perform better. Better performance and certification helps the organization to retain its employees, and this practice is also observed by Samsung (Fu, Yi, & Zhai, 2013).
Safety Training Programs
Health and safety measures are used as a tool to retain the employees for the long term. Samsung is very conscious about the safety of the employees that is helpful in retaining the employees to work in the organization. The employees could avail training from the first date of joining the organization (Lee, 2014). The training programs offered by the company are.
1. Certified Chemical Training
It is provided 24 hours per year. It facilitates the employees regarding handle a chemical substance. The training also includes the safety procedures and protective accident response. The training is effective for the employees to get precautions while working with different types of dangerous chemicals.
2. Material Safety Data Sheets
The training is organized for four hours to provide guidance regarding the handling of materials that are used in the manufacturing process, and it also guide for responding to the hazardous situations.
3. Emergency Response Training
The training is provided for 8 hours to respond to the situation caused due to the heavy machinery and equipment. It also contains the information mentioned on the emergency kit, CPR and practicing chemical utilization (Lee, 2014).
Above mentioned programs of time management and safety training are effective in retaining the employees. These programs are helpful in motivating the employees that the company is concerned regarding the life of the employees. The training programs can be used for motivating the employees to enhance the performance of the overall organization.
