Evidently, social media has and continues to pose immense influence on various societal entities. The Arab societies occur as one of the societal entities that have been influenced by social media in various ways. In fact, there are various ways in which social media has influenced various issues aligned with gender roles amongst Arabs. Precisely, social media has precipitated change in the gender roles of different Arab communities. Worth noting is the fact that Arabs are ardently conservative in nature. This is because Arab communities have ardent belief on Islamic religion, which determines the roles that are to be carried out by male and female genders. The emergence of social media has instilled liberal views amongst the Arabs, which has precipitated change in different gender roles (Boujemi “The Impact of Social Media on the Democratisation Process in Arab Countries”). It can be deduced that Arabs have been enlightened by social media, particularly women. As a result, these enlightenments has enhanced the opportunities accorded to women. This is not the same when compared with the past where Arab women were accorded minimal opportunities in the society.
In addition, social media has enhanced democracy amongst the Arabian communities, particularly those from the Middle East. Precisely, people across the Middle East, who are of Arab origin have utilized social media platforms to air their concerns, particularly on issues regarding governance. Certainly, this has enhanced democracy for the Arabians, who in the past have fallen victims of dictatorial regimes. In fact, social media platforms, especially Facebook, and Twitter have contributed to the toppling of regimes that did not address issues jeopardizing the daily lives of people from the Middle East. Evidently, new technological innovations and social media platforms have made big contributions in assuring the success of different uprising in the Middles East (Boujemi “The Impact of Social Media on the Democratisation Process in Arab Countries”). Many at times, these uprising seek to enhance democracy for the people of the Middle East. This analysis justifies the impact aligned with enhancing democracy that social media platforms have had on the Middle Eastern populations.
Another way in which social media has had an influence on Arabians aligns with the fact that it has offered ample opportunities in which Arabs entrepreneurs can make significant progress with regards to their businesses. Social media platforms provide viable avenues that enhance marketing of different business ventures. This results in an increase in business revenue, which results in a consequent rise in the economy of the Arabian communities. With regards to this, different Arabian communities have benefited immensely due to the growth of social media platforms. In fact, the economies of different Arabian societies such as United Arab Emirates have grown due to the fact that various institutions running businesses in these countries have and continue to utilize social media platforms to enhance their employee prospects and boost their skill sets.
In conclusion, social media has and continues to precipitate change amongst the Arabs in a number of ways. In fact, social media has made the Arabian communities see how other societies have benefited from social media (Boujemi “The Impact of Social Media on the Democratisation Process in Arab Countries”). This has made Arabs yarn for change in their communities. From this analysis, it can be concluded that social media has offered a comprehensive platform in which can be integrated into the Arabian societies. This is contrary to the past where Arabians did not have an immense value for change as they were overly conservative. Overall, social media has empowered Arabian in a number of ways. As such, social media should be welcomed and merged into various societal entities not limited to the Arabian communities alone.
