Introduction
This report focuses on analyzing sociological approach and how it has been able to view societal issues. This is based on the fact that are common in the recent times, there has been an increasing demand for such issues to be well addressed to make the society a perfect place where development in every ramification will be the watchword.
Sociological approach tries to explain man’s relationship among others around him in his everyday life or activities. Such could be either in the field of religion, business, politics or the society at large. In this write – up, the influence of sociological approach will be looked at thoroughly with a view to cross examine its influence on the aforementioned issues threatening the existence of the society.
In the same vein, sociological approach can also be seen as the process of studying the behavior of man in terms of how he interacts with everyone around him. It has become a growing concern to look at how man’s life is in different aspects and analyze the factors that can influence it.
Issue with the race, gender and class
Race in this instance, can be seen as a set of persons whose physical characteristics are the same. That is to say, they have similar features that others don’t have. In this context, the race that is being referred to is that of skin color of persons in the world. The problems that are caused among the people of different communities are quite common. There are some people who like to differentiate them based on the race, sex, class and religious view of the people. The differentiation causes too many problems and creates problems in the society. It introduces the conflicts that bring worst results. The paper has taken the Saunders stories into considerations in order to get through the topics. Saunders is a celebrity person who has talked about those issues throughout the life. The Sauder’s stories have different indications of the social problems related to race, gender and class of the people. The research has tried to be through all those indications to sum up the answers.
The society has been plagued with problems of racial discrimination where people tend to be looked down upon because they belong to a certain group based on their colors. This has had some devastating effects in terms of development and growth. The racial discrimination creates inequality and build some belief of being discriminated for lifetime among the people. The minor groups are mostly the victim of racial problems in a society. It brings the societies backward by dividing the people of a society. The stories show that, the division of people into different groups always creates problems in the society. A society can’t move forward while the people of the society are opposed and they don’t work for the betterment of the society. The sociological approach looks at this problem from the angle that man’s smooth interaction with people around him has been hampered by his attention of these people on the grounds of which colors they belong to. In the world today, there are various categories people have been classified under. Some of them are, Negroid, Mongoloid, and Caucasoid.
The Negroid refers those with dark skin (The Africans), while the mongoloid and Caucasoid refers to those from Asia and Russia respectively. Sociological approach stresses the fact that man’s interaction with persons for each category isn’t equally smooth or in the same level. That is to say, while he interacts very well with the persons from the category of Caucasoid, he may find it difficult interacting with the persons from Negroid categories respectively. There is an ongoing statement that claims that people of one group consider other groups indifferently that creates the problem. The only solution of those problems is summed up as changing the view of each and every person. It will introduce equality in the society and help the people to move forward with the development of the society.
The class issue is another problem in the society. The people are divided into different classes based on the profession, wealth and many more social elements. According to Saunders “You know, you can talk about race, you can talk about sex, and you can talk about your biopsy. But when you get into class, people kind of clench up” (Saunders 2014). The views of the people of different classes vary. People of the upper class are always attentive to keep their superiority on the people of lower class. It always creates differences in the society that results in different bad outcomes in the society. It is essential to remove that terminology of dividing people into different classes of the society. The society can only progress while all the people of a society can stand in a same equal class to move forward.
The gender issues are also portrayed throughout the books of Saunders. The gender issues are always playing roles in the society. There had different movement that has talked about the equality of the gender, orientation of sex, different nature of people and the relationship that exists between man and women. The book described these elements too efficiently that describing the relationships and the involvement of men and women in the sociology. It shows that, it is essential to talk about the sex or gender related issues to solve the problems. The issues can only be solved while the society change the views and act properly.
Economic condition and Direction of Character’s lives
Economic condition always plays important roles in the society. The economy decides the life style of the people living in a society. The societies with having better economic conditions always provide a better life style for all the characters living in the society. The poor economic conditions bring violence and introduce different problems in the society that end up badly.
The economic issues are mostly related to the political issues as well as the standard of living. The poor societies got instability, and different problems to deal with in their daily activities. They have to go through different changes to improve the lifestyle of people living in these societies. The peoples are not much educated and society chiefs are not careful about them. The political parties mostly don’t care about the basic rights of the peoples lives in a poor society. The living standard always continues to go down and end up with some bad impacts. They always need to wait for some miracle to bring them into the light and change their life. They don’t hope much in their life and end the life with a lot of problems.
There had no high impact on the environment or any other social instruments from those people. These people are not highly industrialized and they don’t play much impact on the environmental pollution in that way. However, these people are less concerned about the day to day lifestyles that cause different issues in their lives. The peoples of poor economic society always end the life with bad scenario.
The developed societies are different from the poor societies. The life of those people is more colorful. They receive all the basic needs of the life. They can speak against any types of unlawful activities. They can protest against the chief of the society for any type of problems. They have most of the human rights. The economic conditions drive the lifestyle of people. The people of good economies have better job and income that ensures a great lifestyle for them. They can send the kids to school, get proper treatment, house to live and many more facilities that are needed to spend the life.
The developed economies are always highly industrialized. The developed societies mostly depend on different industries as the economic source. The industries sometimes increase the carbon emissions and many natural problems. (Seaman 2016). The life of these people can be sometime get distracted by the artificial lifestyles as most of the people stay in economic established societies are away from different types of natural elements.
Conclusion
The paper discusses about the different elements of the society and the impacts played with it on the lifestyles of people living in these societies. The paper has tried to sum up those problems based on the readings. It describes that every social element has higher impact in our life and it determines the way in which we lead our life.
