Good The Sound Project Essay Example

Close your eyes. Listen to the sound of percussion kits. Do you feel the intrigue in the air? Hear the violins starting playing. Can you imagine yourself in a dramatic movie, looking at an amazing place with a valley in front of you? Or do you feel like visiting a new, unknown planet out in space? It is our Sound Project, reminding you of a soundtrack from a Hollywood blockbuster.
As to the physical part of the project, it should be stated that the electronic sound was created on the laptop. After being generated on the laptop via vibration, the waves of sound propagate through the air. On reaching a human`s ear, the waves make the ear membrane vibrate. Eventually, the membrane transmits the sound to the human brain.
Talking about the perception, this piece of music mainly aims for the feeling of inspiration. Therefore, it is a combination of dark and bright subtles and shades. The chord progression goes as follows: Gmin, Eb, Bb, F. The electronic violins are producing the feeling of excitement throughout all the melody. When all of the instruments are playing together, it makes a listener perceive a dramatic, sometimes even tragic message of the song. Marimba is used in the moments of culmination to add more dynamic to the melody.
On the contrary, the solo of the electronic violins is the saddest and the most worrying part of the song. The solo is used in the melody to illustrate hope and fear at the same time. Our listener (or a person, who watches the movie) does not yet know the outcome of the story, but the violins are there to give hope.
All in all, during this project I`ve learned how to create and analyze a really powerful piece of music with the Garage Band application. The act of creation is both analytical and intuitive process as long as it requires knowledge and a good taste.
