Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy is an interesting, inspiring, and educative book that combines both athletic and Christ-centered approach to life. It discusses the importance of faith in relation to leadership. The book goes over story after story as it illustrates on how to tackle challenges and situations particularly in leadership. In the book, Dungy reflects on symbolic stories that are based on his football career and his walk with God. Following his victory as the first African American coach in Suoer Bowl 41, Dungy reflect on how he went through hard times and major challenges but he managed to lead his team to victory (Dungy 132). Basically, Quiet Strength talks about a memorable life lived for family and God. It challenges people to reflect on their lives in order to define success. Generally, it is a book that depicts the real meaning of incorporating leadership and faith to work.
This book dates back at the time Dungy was a teenager. It is about the perseverance and struggles in Tony Dungy’s world. It reflects on the Dungy’s early life and career and how he managed to make it through thick and thin. Dungy shares the struggles he faced in his life. For instance, he tells of how he fought his way up despite being discriminated as a black head coach in the NFL. It changes one’s view of various things including sports, and gets the reader on many different levels. Markedly, Dungy’s strong faith enabled him to overcome his challenges and emerge a winner (Dungy 98).

He is described as a quiet man but surprisingly, he is bold enough to proclaim what God has done for him in his family and career life. Seemingly, coach Dungy breaks all the stereotypes. He is careful to give glory to God, his team, and family when he is at the top his game. Similarly, when he is at his worst, he remembers God and praises him for His goodness. He also chooses to lean on God for wisdom and direction, when he is searching for answers. Tony Dunky’s book can be summed up with two words, deeply inspirational. It is indeed a testament to making life memorable and a family moment. In Tony’s biography, there are numerous life teachings, but this book surpasses all that. Issues with humility, maturity, and thought of others are included in this book.

The second lesson is, the Lord always leads us and therefore, we should follow Him. How God continued to lead Dungy in his life is one of the main themes in the book. Tony asserts that we ought to remember that God is on our side even in our painful and dark moments. Lastly, we are taught to reach out to others and be passionate.
