This essay provides information about Deidre Henderson who represents District 7 of the Utah State Senate. She is a white-American incumbent senator who has served in her position since 1st Jan 2013. In terms of education, Henderson went to Taylorville High school as well as Eagan High before attending Brigham Young University. She has five children with her husband - Gabe Henderson. Before being involved in politics, Henderson worked in various positions in business as she and her husband operate small businesses within the state of Utah. Evidently, Henderson belongs to the middle class in terms of the legislator’s socio-economic status.
Deidre Henderson’s career in politics began when she campaigned for Jason Chaffed. Her term in service has seen her serve in various committees. Among the most recent committees she is involved, for example, is the Senate Rules Committee in which she currently chairs since the start of 2017. As the chair, Henderson remains committed to ensuring that Senate regulations are purposefully effective to the expectations of all stakeholders.
Furthermore, Henderson’s time in office has seen her sponsor various bills. In 2016 alone, Henderson sponsored eight bills in the Utah State Legislature. For instance, the Personal Property Amendments S. B. 245 was sponsored by Henderson and got assigned by the Governor on 25th March 2016 (Utah State Legislature, 2017). Critically, this bill is significant to Utah residents as it offers a distinct definition for personal property which was amended to provide that a pipe laid in or affixed to land are both inclusive to the ownership of the underlying Land. However, the limitation of the bill is that it gives more privileges to landowners hence excluding other stakeholders.
