HOW DOES GOOGLE SPREADSHEET WORKS
The first thing that should be done is to create a Google account, and then all the features become available for use. The spreadsheet of Google stores the data online and gives the option of sharing data with other Google account holders. This creates a mutual working network for its users (Elliott, 2012).
USE OF GOOGLE SPREADSHEET IN CLASSROOM
Google spreadsheet can be used in classrooms for different purposes. Some of the important purposes have been discussed below
- The spreadsheet can be used for keeping a track of grades, attendance, or any other data that can be easily accessible and always available for use. Moreover, it can be shared directly with the parents and students so that their performance can be measured.
- The spreadsheet allows to write or input data and this data can be shared with the others, so the teacher can see the data at any time and at the time when the students are preparing their reports. This would help the teachers to evaluate students’ performance on a daily or weekly basis or to analyze the amount of work completed by the students along with giving feedback at that time (Electronic Portfolio, 2008).
- The spreadsheet tracks and organizes collective project data in a single sheet that is accessible to any collaborator at any time. This feature can allow different students to work at the same time (Electronic Portfolio, 2008).
- The Google spreadsheet helps to create the paperless environment in the class that saves a lot of time of teachers and students.
