MUSIC PIECE ONE
A symphony is a type of work done by an Orchestra which more often than not has three to four movements. Classical symphony is a determined and extended work of art composition typically taking a period of time of between 20 and 45 minutes, uses a variety of tone color and dynamics of the classical orchestra (Evan, 2001). When we look at Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony no.5 4th movement, the most vital aspect of the symphony is that the movements have some balance and harmonize each other both dramatically and musically. In this symphony, it consists of different emotions through differences in tempo and mood. This symphony encompassed a large group of instrumental tools, the instruments contained sections of brass, woodwind, string, and percussion instruments.
In the first piece of music the major point is the rhyme, the group plays a classic symphony number five and movement four the rhyme scheme makes an extended sonata like easy on the ear type of music. The way the instruments shift from one to another, makes the rhyme to be very evident when the group is performing.
The second important point is the melody that comes out of the movement. In this movement, the melody picks up the music from the climax when the movement begins. In its conclusion, there is a tense way leading to quieter segments of the music. It is played in D major also known as choral; best known as a collection of western classical.
MUSIC PIECE TWO
Looking at Mozart Symphony no.36, movements one, we find that the first movement's opening in itself is an Adagio-Presto. Its introduction is very slow that is mind capturing and gradually draws you into the music, making someone pay attention to get the different instruments and the tone variation that come and go. It helps in creating a platform on which the will take off. There is change of the music from solemn and slow to joyful and from joyful to playful that draws your feelings closer, see and hears the variation in tone color and dynamics. Looking at this movement we get to know the main theme and the steamroller effects that appear to occur at the same time in certain parts (Cliff, 2012).
The difference between the first piece of music and the second in terms of rhyme is that the Mozart Symphony no.36 has a wide variety of instrumentation and larger orchestrations. This makes the rhyme to be even more soothing an attention seeking as compared to the first piece of music. The first movement sonata forms with a stormy mood.
When comparing the two pieces of music in terms of melody we find that Mozart Symphony no.36 has additional instruments such as the clarinets which give it a much better melody as compared to Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony no.5.
The last comparison will be on the harmony of the music, both the two set pieces of music have a well linking harmony between the orchestra. The music comes out nicely without any confusion and has a perfect flow. The harmony in the two pieces gradually draws you into the music, making someone pay attention to get the different instruments and the tone variation that come and go.
