Individual Relational Meeting
I am a full-fledged member of society, so I want to do my best to improve the common good. The arena that interests me, and where I can develop is the arena of the protection of animal rights. The problem of stray animals is one of the most acute problems in the United States. Nowadays, millions of Americans pick up stray animals on the street, many citizens keep dozens of animals in their apartments. Besides, in the US there are no restrictions on the breeding of animals.
There are people, who are engaged in the development of solutions to this problem. A great example is an advocate for animal rights, and particularly for the rights of stray animals, Alex Pacheco. He is the founder of 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You, co-founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and a member of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Pacheco, as a high-value leader, inspires people with his broad understanding of interests and advanced leadership capacities. His work started in 1981, when Pacheco got a job in the Silver Spring laboratory, a time later he told police that PETA considers the conditions of the monkeys living there as unacceptable. It was the first raid in the US history against animal researchers. Police freed the monkeys, a neurologist Taub was charged of 17 points in the animal cruelty and failure of providing the adequate veterinary care. He was sentenced to 6 points, five of them were canceled during the second trial and a final sentence was canceled on appeal in 1983, when the court ruled that the charge of cruelty to animals, under the law of the State of Maryland, may not apply to federally funded laboratories.
Therefore, PETA was transformed from a group of like-minded people in the national movement. Besides, it was created one of the first in North America “Animal Liberation Front from cells”. Thus, in the course of a long and difficult struggle, Alex Pacheco and PETA have achieved the first results in the protection of animal rights. This breakthrough laid the foundation for the development of all sorts of animal protection companies.
Today, Pacheco deals with the problem of stray animals. He has developed a three-tier model to address the problem of stray animals. The first stage is to reduce the number of unsecured animals. The second is termination of the interspecies destruction of animals. The third is to work on the of protection of individual animal at the legal level. This phase includes the development and adoption of legislation to protect animals from abuse. Thus, according to Alex Pacheco, compliance with these three steps significantly decreases in numbers, and in the future, completely solves the problem of stray animals. Now, Pacheco as the chairman of the animal protection company 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You, and his team, modify this project, which will be submitted for consideration to the government authorities.
I am a citizen of my country, so it is important for me to participate in the improvement of its common good. I want to serve the common good in the arena of protection of animal rights. I am concerned about the problem of stray animals, so I join the 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You company. I meet there like-minded people, where we are developing a common just cause. Alex Pacheco, inspired me as a role model. He is the one, who clearly sees not only the problem, but also its solution. He achieves the result due to his leadership qualities, such as dedication, hard work, humanism, communication skills, and developed qualities of a true leader.
