The primary functioning of a gun is violence or aggression against other people regardless of the objective. We need to have strict gun laws to control the widespread ownership, possession, and use of guns. Guns not only lead to the thousands of deaths around the world in the context of murder but also lead to suicide and accidental deaths. Guns are one of the most dangerous weapons to possess because the owners could deliberately or accidentally use the guns on themselves or their families. Although gun activists refer to the right to preserve the safety of the individual, guns lead to a lack of security for individuals and the society. The support for strict guns laws increased considerably in recent years due to mass shootings, terrorist attacks, and accidental deaths. We should have strict gun laws because guns lead to several unfavorable outcomes, including murders, armed robberies, mass shootings, accidental deaths, and suicide.
Guns are the common denominator in mass shootings, murders, and armed robberies because assailants use guns to harass, injure, and kill their victims. Strict gun laws would curb mass shootings and prevent thousands of deaths resulting from mass shootings. Terrorists can take advantage of the lenient gun laws to own and carry guns in a broad range of places and attack innocent people. Although mass shootings usually stem from psychological or sociological issues, the perpetrators use guns to harass, injure and kill their victims. Guns are the primary causes of mass shootings in educational campuses throughout the United States because individuals use guns to kill innocent students and teachers. Strict gun laws would alleviate the mass distribution of guns and dampen the atrocious objectives of the shooters. Guns are not only the cause of mass shootings in school or college campuses but also lead to thousands of deaths in other vicinities.
Accidental deaths are also one of the most horrific outcomes of lenient gun control laws because people can easily own and possess guns. Accidental shootings injure or take the lives of thousands of people each year, including innocent bystanders, women, and children. Children are can accidentally shoot a gun in the house and accidentally injure or kill their siblings, parents, and other relatives. On the other hand, guns are also one of the most common methods of suicide because people use guns in their homes to commit suicide. The number of suicides in the United States of America increased with the advent of time and guns played an important role in this scenario.
Gun legislation in the United States can play an effective role in controlling the incidents associated with gun control. Different legislations by the government officials controlled the utilization of guns in the United States. The federal laws are present to prevent the unwanted utilization of guns in the United States. Second Amendment Protection Act and certain other important legislative measures help the individual to attain gun control.
Conclusively, stricter guns laws would result in reduction of different accidental deaths, suicidal attempts, robberies, murders, mass shootings, etc. However, government should focus on effective implementation of such scenarios to attain beneficial returns. Different states should coordinate with the federal government to attain beneficial results with respect to gun control laws. However, influential members of the society should also play a viable role in gun control.
