In this document, readers will be presented with a discussion on the movie entitled as Hanna Montana and its effect on the cultural ideologies of human beings. The Movie was made in 2009; it is an American teen melodic comedy-drama movie based on the Disney Channel TV series.
The Frankfurt school is a communal and opinionated theoretical movement of contemplation and ideas, and the school differed with the concepts of film Hanna Montana. As the academic’s critical process is far reaching regarding learning institutions in which such traditions are taught and practiced. Some of the main issues of Frankfurt school involved the appraisal of modernity and commercialized culture, the definition of societal liberation and the supposed pathologies of the social order.
The concepts of cultural industry are a theory, which had been proposed by Adorno and Horkheimer of the Frankfurt school. It asserts that cultural industries subsist to enforce the culture of the consumers. The theory suggested that cultural industries blend out an immoral mass of ingenuous, sloppy commodities, which have changed the complex and decisive form of art, which has completely changed the social lives of human beings. H&A believe that these products are, in fact, not different at all as they are presenting art in a different form, but he believed the output of this form of art is going to badly affect the social and ethical order of people.
Tarr and Landmann while explaining the theoretical concepts of Horkheimer and Adorno stated that products of media are characterized by standardization (Tarr and Landmann 1). It means products are typically similar, but incidental differences (pseudo-individualisation) make them appear unique and different. False needs are cultivated in individuals by the cultural industries.
The film Hanna Montana appeared to be a unique project as it was showing the school of life in a more entertaining style, where students were giving more time their extraneous activities instead of studying. The film even followed a standardized formula where all the students were shown as a learner and the teachers were portrayed were authoritarian. The concept of love, drama, and humour was portrayed in the movie. The only thing, which was different in the movie, was the attitude and activities of all the students as they were tremendously apathetic and gave more importance to entertainment instead of giving more time to studies.
