A secured and happy future is desired by everyone; happiness has a different meaning for people. It might be internal or external; or even just a state of mind. Future is distant and it does need planning combined with efforts. Thesis: “Happiness is an elevated state of mind and brings a smile on faces; but behind the smile is strong determination and positivity to make happiness last forever.”
I believe in being positive even in the most difficult situations; as situations cannot be controlled but the response to them can be handled. I find happiness when I shop for myself and loved ones. Shopping, is like retail therapy for me; after a bad day or a stressful one, purchasing something for myself elevates my mood and I feel better. Though at times I spend too much; I am working on this as I do not want to become a compulsive shopper. The excitement of wearing something new makes me happy. But to shop I need to earn; I am a self motivated individual and a hard worker. I enjoy working and meeting strict deadlines as it brings out the best in me. I believe in meeting my expenses through dedicated hard work.
Nothing can match the joy of getting paid and being appreciated for hard work. Making money does give me happiness as it proves that I am doing well professionally. My happiness is not dependent on money but it does help me buy things that I want to. I save a part of my earnings regularly to satisfy the globe trotter and the excited traveller in me. I am fascinated by places that have breathtaking natural landscapes.
I have planned to visit such places once in a year and have collected information about those places. New Zealand, India and Australia are on my wish list; experiencing different cultures and traditions is humbling. Watching the wonders of nature fascinates me and surprises me every time with something new. I am spellbound to see people giving up all the comforts of life to be close to nature. It’s all about happiness and where an individual finds it.
I am passionate about pursuing education in foreign countries to enhance my learning and to broaden my thought process. I feel happy when I connect with people who have nothing in common with me; language barriers are there but emotions are similar worldwide. In the age of globalisation where distances do not matter, I wish to study in renowned institutions worldwide. Learning new things like yoga, playing a guitar or making a chocolate cake makes me happy. Learning has given me experience; something which money can’t buy. I want to learn the art of meditation and experience the world of unending and ultimate happiness.
I have learnt that when I smile at strangers; most of the times they smile back. At times making others happy gives us more satisfaction than personal happiness. I feel elated when I am able to help people even if it is something as small as doing a project. Happiness for me is being able to share my feelings with people; it is about connecting with and listening to somebody. A simple song can make me happy and make me forget the stressful situations or even motivate me. Things can make us happy temporarily but for perpetual happiness a person needs to work towards it physically and emotionally.
