Stevey is very opinionated, honest and open-minded about legalizing marijuana. As he gives his opinion as to whether or not marijuana should be legalized, he confesses to having been a user at some point in his life. He continues by saying that even as a user, marijuana did not affect him and he is one of the smartest people.
Credit cards are issued by the bank to enable an individual to buy goods or pay for services. They make life easier but if they are wrongly used they can make one to be in a massive financial debt. However, use of credit card buckets enables an individual to track their expenses and use the credit card more wisely. Each bucket represents a type of expense. This expense would have an absolute credit limit enabling an individual to control how much they spend. It is hard for the banks to implement the credit cards because most of their income comes from the amount devoted to the credit card. The idea of introducing the credit card buckets would mean that people are more cautious while spending. Thus, the banks would not gain as much from the credit cards. Therefore, this makes it difficult to implement them.
The legalization of Marijuana has been a topic that is controversial for a long time. It is challenging to implement it because the process takes time. Also, the impacts that will be associated with legalization must also be looked into carefully. Every detail on legalization has to be written, worked on, voted on, and approved before making the final decision.
The craps easy syndrome means that what is easily imaginable can be easily implemented. This may affect me as a business student because a strategy is required to implement any idea. In business, strategies are necessary for any ideas to work. Craps not easy because for something to be approved it takes time. All aspects must be looked into before something is implemented or is made lawful.
Reading 2: The Worst Project I ever worked on
Mark’s project did not work because of various reasons. One was because the company was bureaucratic and disorganized. When Mark first took the job, he thought it would be straightforward, and he had a clue of what was required in the project. However, after taking up the project, he was not sure of what he was doing. Besides, the company had various management hierarchies, and they kept twisting the little details that were required in the project.
Another thing that contributed to the difficulty of the project was that the set of data delivered was incomplete. It was also dirty, and they also had to fix their exportation process regularly in which it was done incompletely in most cases. The company also kept changing their mind about which real estate agencies were to be included in the results. Due to this, they also had to keep on sending new data sets that had new partners which would be incomplete. Mark also received a replacement of data about six to seven times in different versions which were challenging.
In this scenario, one of the things I would do differently is assessing the project before accepting to do it. This would help me know beforehand what kind of expertise the project requires. Thus, evaluate my skills to know whether I am capable of handling the project. Another important thing is that I would ensure that all the elements required for the project are complete to avoid any inconveniences. Lastly, I would ensure that I have a variety of versions to avoid challenges while loading the data. Programmers care so much because they have to get every little detail right to create a functional software. Also, by getting a single thing wrong might ruin their project. They care about their work to ensure that the code that they create cannot be easily hacked and also to develop a system that can be easily improved.
