I have always been intrigued by the exciting life of the health care professionals from an early age. It is particularly exciting due to the fact that one never actually really knows what is going to happen next in health related situations and therefore staying on toes, making better judgments and problem solving is always handy in securing your patients’ health. Moreover, I have always been passionate about meeting new people and a career in health care offers endless avenues of meeting different individuals. I cherish the idea that I meet and interact with different people everyday including patients, doctors, and other medical staff.
A profession in healthcare is particularly fulfilling to me since the job is all about making a difference in other people’s lives. I feel that being able to help other people lead healthy lives is fulfilling, satisfying and important. One thing that has always intrigued me about health care careers is that there is variety and endless opportunities to move up. There are limitless opportunities to advance and one can be promoted to related fields that even pay better. The best part is that one can easily change specialties as need be. Moreover, health care jobs are usually in demand almost everywhere and this means the career can be an avenue to explore different places around the world.
I particularly have special interest in public health and wound like to further specialize in environmental health science. My Problem solving attitude would probably come in handy in studying environmental factors impacting the health of the population such as bacteria, industrial wastes, and radioactive materials (Jacobsen, 2008). I have especially taken keen interest in environmental health scientists’ ability to assess the effects of such health impacting factors and find ways control them. Moreover, I also consider research centers, health departments and agencies such as EPA where most environmental health scientists work to be quite appealing.
