Introduction
First, I would explain the importance of wearing protective gears while undertaking such risky and injury prone games. Then, I will approach the problem at hand by presenting ideas from health education philosophies that best address the issues. These philosophies are discussed below:
Behavior Change Philosophy: This involves the victims in the accident to set their own goals in protecting themselves. It will awaken them from the unhealthy and risky life they live and persuade them to change their unprotected skating then evaluate the instances and severity of the injuries before and after use of protective gears.
Cognitive-Based Philosophy: this will aim at increasing the knowledge of every member of the society on the advantages and disadvantages of wearing protective gears. This will empower them to make wise decisions about their health lives. It is better to give the statistics of the teenagers injured while skating without gears.
Decision-making Philosophy: this will involve providing debatable health issues on skating safety. I would provide a case where a victim was injured and involve the PTA in providing the best approach on how to get answers on skating safety. This will help develop necessary skill required for critical thinking about health safety.
Freeing/ Functioning Philosophy: this aims at freeing people from the societal thinking perspective to an individual reasoning on their health safety. I will make each of the members realize the need of taking responsible health decisions that guarantees their safety.
Social Change Philosophy: this emphasizes on creating social, political and economic changes that benefit them all. Here I will show how the importance of wearing gears will benefit the society and household in economic and social aspect.
Eclectic health education philosophy: here I will table the problem at hand and brainstorm with all members on how to deal with the current situation. This will provide immediate answers to the best approach about health safety.
