A health promotion program to reduce childhood respiratory illness is the most appropriate program. This is because it helps to deal with complications brought by the illness early in life before they develop into serious complications. Most of these diseases can be ignored, making it difficult to deal with complications they bring later in life. Many people and health institutions fail to put an emphasis on treatment of childhood respiratory illness (Shonkoff, Boyce, McEwen, 2009). Instead, many health institutions focus on programs to deal with adult illnesses that would have been dealt with in early childhood. Symptoms of childhood respiratory illness need to be identified and then educated to the public. Examples of respiratory illness include fever, soar thought, coughing (Glover, Kira, and Faletau, 2013). The program will be beneficial to the hospital and to the public, because many people are concerned about the health of their children.
The critical questions are; what are the types of childhood respiratory illness? What are the causes of childhood respiratory diseases? What are the complications brought by childhood respiratory illness? What is the rate of respiratory childhood disease among children? How many health institutions have carried out similar studies in the past? These research questions are critical for the success of the health promotion program. This is because of both financial reasons and the amount of people that it will help.
The research will use to perform a qualitative and quantitative research. There will be the study of a various geographical regions and estimation of the number of children in the regions. Records of respiratory diseases will also be beneficial in the research since it will provide an idea of the amount of people the illness affects. There are many respiratory diseases that affect children, and if they are not properly addressed, they may lead to serious complications in adulthood. Methods to deal with the disease need to be identified and improved. For these reasons, the type of research done should be able to identify the several types of respiratory diseases. The research should then look at how to address the diseases early in life before they develop into serious complications. In addition the research should look at the various methods that can be used to advise people about early intervention.
Sources of information for the furthering of this research are plural ranging from public records on health, questionnaires to information found in books and the internet. Public records on health can be found in the various hospitals. These records can also be found on the internet and on the websites of various health institutions. These records will be important to have a clear idea of the number of people childhood respiratory illness affects. The records will also serve as a reference material when determining the number of people the program will serve. Questionnaires are also a good source of information for this research on childhood respiratory illness. They are important because they will provide a detailed description of the people that are likely to be affected by the program. Parents can provide information on the symptoms their children display, and adults can describe the respiratory illnesses that have affected them since childhood. Books and the internet are also important sources of information, since they will provide a list of information of all the respiratory illnesses. In addition, they will provide methods on how to properly administer solutions to the problem in a particular region of the country.
