There are many health concerns for the majority of the people in any community. Individuals in the community have different health issues. Some of the common health issues of the people are those that are related to nutrition and physical activity, overweight and obesity, HIV/Aids, substance abuse and mental health.
Various factors affect the proper running of a health organization together with its workers. There has been an increase in the spending of the health organization mainly due to the increase in the level of technology. Medical technology is a broad term that describes the processes, equipment and procedures used in the delivery of the medical care (Sadeghi, 2013). The new medical technology has facilitated efficiency and effectiveness in the services offered by the medical organizations. For any organization to obtain new medical technology, it must incur some cost.
The issue of quality in the health care organizations plays a major role in ensuring that all the patients obtain the required and standards services. It is evident that it is difficult to establish the quality in the operations of the health care organizations. Many factors make the health professionals to provide health services differently. Those factors include the level of experience, personalities, and individual abilities. The fact that a customer cannot judge the ‘quality’ before he or she buys the services, makes the process of controlling quality difficult (Sadeghi, 2013). The result of the health services cannot be guaranteed because they are not certain, and the patients can end up losing a lot of money because of poor quality of services in the health organization. All the quality initiatives in the health care organization aim at achieving the following goals. First, is to ensure that the health of the people is improved. Second, is to improve the care to the patients and finally, to ensure that the health cost in the country is reduced (Mosadeghrad, 2014).
There is a great difference between the healthcare organizations and other industries. Some of the competitive industries that pose a great competition against the healthcare organizations are the insurance companies (Dayaratna, 2013). It is proven that majority of the insurance companies can care for their customers in an excellent way. The fact that the customers of the insurance companies become satisfied with the services offered by the insurance company is an indication that they will remain loyal to the company. The level of logistic in a company is another factor that enhances competition between the health care organization and the insurance companies. In the insurance companies, the customers are very convinced by the level of logistics, unlike in the health organizations whereby there are many logistics, which discourages the customer. As the chain of logistics becomes more complicated, the cost of the services offered by that organization will end up being higher. The healthcare organizations should apply some of the strategies used by the insurance companies to promote their relationship with their customers also how to manage quality standards in their operations.
There are some adverse effects caused by changes in demographic structure. From the trend, it is evident that people with health insurance cover decline as the time goes by. It will facilitate to poor health. The health insurance cover is related to good health especially in countries where the public healthcare does not offer standards or better services. The health reforms that are formulated assist a lot in ensuring that citizens of the country get easy access to the medical services, which increases the number of healthy people in the community. When people in the community are healthy, then it will be possible to create an effective healthcare system in the country (E-psychologist.org, 2016).
In conclusion, it is evident that many health issues affect the people in the community. For a healthcare organization to run effectively, it must set the appropriate strategies to solve those health issues. Finally, the health reforms as indicated will enhance easy access to health care services to the people of the country and thus, an efficient health system is created.
