Question 1
Answer
The two nations selected in the study include the United States and China. In the two countries, the government provides funds for health services. Therefore, in the budget for each of the nations selected, there is an allocation of funds onto the health financing initiative. In the United States, the execution of such funding comes through the programs like Medicare or Medicaid (Reeves, 2015). In addition, the insurance plans exist. In China, there is governmental funding and insurance policies alone. In both nations, the financing health insurance has various impacts on the economy. For example, in the United States, the economic strain that results from the high cost of health care tends to diminish, after the introduction of the health care insurance financing. In China, the financing of the health insurance will improve the economy because the people will afford the health services. The uninsured health care is expensive regardless of the nation. The Affordable Care Act is responsible for the provision of affordable health care through insurance. Therefore, compared to the uninsured health services, the Affordable Care Act enables the people to access expensive services for example Surgeries and Radiography. People tend to find it unaffordable to purchase the services.
Question 2
Answer
The quality initiatives that guarantee a reduction in quality health care cost include the government subsidies to the health system. Such subsidies will reduce the cost of health facilities like medicine and equipment like surgical materials (Reeves, 2015). Additionally, the modification of government policies regarding insurance firms and businesses will lead to an increased number of insurance organizations in the country, hence getting most people to join such organizations. In so doing, it will be possible for them to access various services in health facilities without much struggle. The availability of generic drugs will improve the health quality in the United States because the health facilities will always be ready to handle any generic disorder that might arise at a lower cost (Reeves, 2015). For example, the cost of acquiring the drugs will reduce, because there are no frequent purchases in small amounts. Secondly, the availability of generic drugs will reduce the cost because transactional, as well as transport expenses for the drugs, will not arise.
Question 3
"Public Health Services"
Answer
Some of the public health care services include the emergency services for example, people who face road accidents and may be in need of surgical activities. Such services are always expensive when there is a lack of an insurance policy to reduce the cost because they entail quality drugs and time for one to go through a surgical exercise. Secondly, there exist maternal services for pregnant and lactating women. Such services also need attention and allocation of enough time, because they are sensitive to the health of women and the children. About the Obamacare health services, it is significantly cheaper for the various groups to access the services, as is the case places like Florida, New York and other parts of the country (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2014). The Environmental Protection Agency gets involved in issues relating to health care through ensuring that the environment is hygienic, and ensuring that it is safe for living, concerning the outbreak of diseases. Additionally, the Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) ensures that every product regarding drugs meets safety standards. For example, EPA ensures that waste disposal mechanisms prevail in the country, and the OSHA ensures that the health of workers in most industries works in a safe environment. The efforts of the organizations portray the government’s efforts in improving healthcare within the borders of the United States.
Question 4
Disease Control"
Answer
The public health agency in the various states tends to differ in various aspects. In regards to disease management, Florida’s public health agency and the United States Department of Health and Human Services tend to manage the disease in a more organized manner, because they plan for emergencies through having well-developed laboratories for analysis of the causes of any outbreaks (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2014). In the event of the outbreak of a disease, the state public health agency carries out a therapeutic activity, for example, a vaccination program to all the people who are not infected as well as treating the ones who are victims of the said disease for example in the case of an outbreak of malaria or fever. On the other hand, the DHHS tends to organize for the restocking of the health facilities within the country, to ensure that the drugs are there in abundance to avert any form of an outbreak such as typhoid. Finally, the strategies applicable in the case of an outbreak include conducting an immunization against the pandemic, isolating the infected people to reduce spreading of the disease, and organizing for the treatment of those infected (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2014). Finally, passing information is another useful strategy that can aid the prevention process. In relation to the modification of policies, one can learn that the policies concerning the public health organizations are adjustable. Secondly, it is evident that sometimes policies do not favor the situation and that is why they require modifications.
