The Analects for ideal women in Chinese society are expected to act in a discreet manner. They are expected to tell were they intent to go or say the people they talk. The traditional perception sees the essence of a good woman is the one who knows other women well. According to Book, three on "learning rites" a woman is expected to welcome a female guest by they herself and speaking humbly. Further, in book four on the need of raising early, a woman is perfected to be the first one to rise and prepare her, fetch firewood and boil water. The Japanese cultural practices have displayed various perspectives. There are rules stipulated on the way a woman treats parents in law, her parents , and instruction children and serving her husband (Ruoxin & Ruozbao, n.d., p.329). Essentially, the story kings You and Bao Si during the Western Zhou period. The Zhou dynasty was active when King Zhou was alive. Notably, when royal power was lost suddenly, the Zhou was chased towards East. The stories have one thing in common. They display women to be the pillar of success in the society. Jointly, it is based on the submissiveness of women in the establishment of the empires and governments. The essence of conserving their cultural practices amid their religious viewpoint, they believe in unity.
On the other hand, Guanyin is paramount in Chinese literature. Ideally, the analysis indicates the importance of women in the society and the role of the family. Guanyin story illustrates the traits of kindness and compassion (Ruoxin & Ruozbao, n.d., p.336). This is a true representation of Yin concept of China, which, is attached to the feminine creation aspect. Guanyin is believed to control the weather. She has a crown that illuminates the image of Amitabha. Additionally, The literature brings to the limelight the projection of things women are expected to do. Indirectly, they are expected to be harmonious and be in the forefront in taking care of the family and guests.
Question 4
Zen Buddhism and Taoism are major religions, especially in China. They possess unique tenants that are used to identify the religions. In particle, Buddhism and Taoism have a common place of worship. They both worship in shrines, Montessori's. Buddhism follows the life path of Buddha, they desire to me like Buddha, while Taoism wants to follow Tao. Dogen started as a basis of Zen Buddhism. Notably, they believe that true Buddhism involves the practice of Zen. Dogen identifies itself as self-actualizing form samadhi or the way in which concentration is put to have a feeling of self. This is a unique kind of worship since other Buddhist does not have the kind of spiritual efficacy (Dogen, n.d.).
The practices put emphasis on the essence of following a true path. India and China have experienced this kind of awakening. The Zen dharma is considered the best as it calls for repentance, recalling Buddha and recommends the importance of sitting while recalling and sloughing off one's mind.
Similar ideas are elaborated in the Li Bo poetry. The poem illustrates the importance of poetry in displaying the importance of China's culture. The High Tang has always been reviewed due to its achievements. They had flouring moments during their era. Further, the poet depicts the rich nature of China regarding its culture and the serene environment (BO, n.d, p.22). The poet indicates the lamentation made by Li Bo in an attempt to communicate and express his disappointment he waits for the spring to come and the moon to appear.
The Japanese Samurai had the key influence on Zen Buddhism during the Kamakura period. The samurai was associated with the attachments towards clan towards their Lord. This maintained their relationship . their lessons can still be seen in today Japanese teachings especially in martial arts. Both samurai and Kamakura had a military government. Kamakura period eventually overpowers samurai hence adopted their cultural structure. Some stewards and governors managed their territory. During the era cultural progress was seen, the council of state in 1225 was established. Further, following the death of Atsumori, the samurai adopted the priestly vows. Kumagai wanted to be the one to kill Atsumori, who was the same age as his son. Owing the actions of Kumagai of beheading Atsumori, it led him to take priestly vows and become a Buddhist monk.
On the other hand, during the period of Kamakura, there was the large development of Buddhism. The relationship that had been constrained between Confucianism and Zen showed key influence since the paintings down had gained fame. Based on dynasty song, Neo-Confucian adopted the new painting styles and changed their political ideology. The relationship showed the way the Japanese assumes the state of the art and applies them in overcoming difficulties. According to Ouyang Xiu discussed the essence of the dynasty song. The development of the culture and science indicted. The scholars like, Ouyang, Sima, Su and Shen did great work in bringing out the samurai ethos that had key warriors.
