Main Body
In the history section of Walmart on their website, it states that they have more than 10,800 retail units in twenty-seven different countries. It also states that Walmart has 2.2 employee associates in the United States. With an economy that is on the beginning stage of recovery, plus the people in the United States, that shows significant value how Walmart respects America.
This led to the creation of the online Walmart.com in January of 2000. They have principles that are in the same principles of Walmart. One of their primary goals is to make the customer happy. They ensured this by meeting today technology standards. However, they had received challenges.
One of the legal challenges that Walmart faced was with the Native American Indians. There defined documentation that the breaking ground is a Native American Burial Ground. Walmart when ahead and build on this. This caused severe opposition in the eyes of Native Americans Indians and those that cherish their cultural beliefs. To help this, Walmart in the end provide a solution agreement what they did. While this brought some individuals peace, it did not produce peace with countless of Native American Indians. This result led to the boycott of Walmart. The stores opened in Hawaii, however, were able to connect to meet profit and remain open. The business area of pleasing customers can be extremely difficult task.
The goal is also the importance of the employees being happy and having the satisfaction with their job. There are numerous workers who stated Walmart does not provide commentary or care for their employees. There was no compensation for overtime. This led to the creation of one group.
Making Change at Walmart had several goals. One of their goals is to make Walmart aware of the conditions of their workers. The other goal was to educate individuals on how it impact society. One example of this is that since Walmart does not allow their employees, with health insurance, it left to the burden of tax payers to take care of them. They have a section on their website listed facts. They enter the subjects that Walmart has not properly address and provide statistical data information on some, as well more detailed reports. There website also has information when going into the search box, about the Native Americans Indians.
According to this website, they state that Walmart made a tremendous amount of money from Native Americans Indians. They also state this is not the first time that Walmart has tried to build on Native American Burial Grounds. They also state on their website that the decline of the Mom and Pop Business is due to Walmart. They state that Walmart took advantage of their opponents just like they take advantage of their opponents. On their website, they even have a petition to help them against their battle. There is a limitless list that supports this group. They can be founded on the home page under Facebook. The web page also gives updates with news information regarding Walmart as well as allowing readers of the site to leave comments and feedbacks.
This feedback can lead to the bad and good. It can add to the rumors regarding Walmart or give it strength. Sometimes, some individuals only count this source as news and disregard anything as news. Sadly that is the case with any political debate. Regardless of this, there are those who battling who support Walmart.
In a three part series by Joshua Kennan, from about.com, he defends Walmart to the fullest. He states that the workers should not blame Walmart for their situations. Mr. Kennan states that when people apply to jobs like cashier and jobs similar to it; they should have a realistic idea of what that job entails. He states that those who wanted high salaries from Walmart are being selfish. They could spend the money differently. They could go to school. He also states that if a person takes a job as a cashier for life, and still expects to be able buy new things and providing for their family, is not thinking properly. He then states Walmart impact on society.
He states that by Walmart offering prices at extreme fantastic deal, it helps not only the person trying to promote their cause; but also help community. It gives that person options. He fiercely states that Walmart never advertised to imitate another company. He states that they dying of Mom and Pop business are due to us, not due to Walmart.
Walmart received countless criticism with those opposed to them that they were the chief party reasonability for the decline for Mom and Pop Business. In the business world, the Mom and Pop Business is an endless debate. Regardless of the decline of them, it all comes down to what they want comes want.
He explains customers can choose where they want to buy a product. If the Mom and Pop Business stores are selling products for a couple dollars versus another store that sell the corresponding the products but only for a dollar, it be benefited to individual and all to buy the cheaper one. He also mentions that the smaller company does not have any right under the law regarding the safety. He states that is the consumers’ obligation to help small business. He states it the reasonability of the individual.
He advised also that if people do not properly prepare to improve themselves, they remain in the stay ring cycle of poverty. He mentions about the ways that an individual can move up in the company. This way they can have an income that will meet living standards. Again, he mentions hard work and having realistic expectations. His methods are blunt. Some people from the Making Changes at Walmart disagree with him about this.
They state that the poverty cycle is not a choice but a force due to selections. They also state that the factors like going to school are not always an option for countless individuals. They state the reasons for this are due to financial cost of college as well as having families. They also states there is not enough city buses to run straight through or even make stops in the zones for work. These individuals’ states factors like this hinder their growth. They also state that there is not opportunity to climb up the ladder.
These individuals at Making Changes at Walmart states that they face discrimination toward woman, minority groups and gays. They also states that women, especially minority, face more sexually discrimination and their pleas are ignored by Walmart. Because of their protest, Walmart only promotes those they consider one of their one. These individuals also state that the breaks that are not always sufficient, neither is their lunch time.
In the article from Time Magazine called, “10 Ways Walmart Changed the World,” it was during the 50 year anniversary of Walmart. Sam Walton did a presentation during the ceremonial. In the article, it mentions that Walmart is the largest retailer besides the United Department of Defense and China’s People Libration Army. The article stated to become this successful it took a vigorous step trying to stay on top. The article mention it the ten principles that help Walmart maintain their establishments today.

This article mentions that Walmart has helped by providing employees an opportunity with a job and to ensure that job is safe and legal area.
It also states that the other reason for it support is the Supplier Partnership. They state that Walmart provides an opportunity for other companies to have their business product displayed at Walmart. The other reason they gave is the Cult of Walmart which meant keeping the core traditions of Sam Walton principals alive. Another reason for Walmart success is Date Drive Management. That means they are using the advance current technology to help keep customers the products they want. The other reason was the Culture of Overconsumption.
It gives customers the changes to buy things they needed, without having to plan a budget. It also spins the economy on buying aspect. Another reason was sustainability. The ultimate purpose provided was flexibility. Meaning customers can go anywhere and get a Walmart.
Walmart will always have this support it as well those who oppose it. Regardless, since the creation of Walmart till now, Walmart is one of the largest retailers.
