4. Who designs the laws? Do they benefit and protect all citizens equally? Why or why not?
According to the constitution, the congress is responsible for the process of making laws. Laws are debated in the parliament and when passed, it is expected that they are to protect all people in the society equally. The laws made by the congress actually benefit all the citizens of a country equally. This is because; these laws aim at ensuring that all people in the country enjoy their rights and freedoms. When in court, the laws are applied to all the citizens equally regardless of social status or other differences. However, aliens who are not citizens may not be equally protected by the laws made by the congress. According to the constitution, all people should be treated equally under law. This guarantees that people benefit equally from laws. If one feels that he/she is offended, he can seek help of the courts where he/she gets the necessary assistance as a citizen.
5. Who tends to be interested in police work, and why?
Police is an important department in many countries. Many parties are interested in the work of the policemen. The court is one of the parties interested. This is because the police are expected to collect evidence against a criminal to be charged in the court. The courts are interested in knowing whether the evidence is collected in the right manner and are accurate.
Offended individuals are also interested in the activities of the police. The victims of crimes expect that the police would carry out their duties to ensure that they receive justice. In this regard, these individuals are interested on the work of the police to determine whether they will get their rights and within what time.
The government is also an interested party. The government is responsible for ensuring security. It has to evaluate the activities of the police to determine whether there are enough efforts to provide the required security.
