We all finish high schools with great hopes and animation concerning our future, but are still searching for where we fit the world. College, especially the first year builds foundation for that future where our dreams become more vivid and achievable. My case was no different. My classes and the combination of courses that I’m taking have helped me the greatest in the respect.
English class helps me not only in building reports for my logic class, but also provides direction to my creativity where I’m continuously coming across newer ways of discovering myself. It is teaching me better ways of expressing myself, and my writing abilities are improving many-fold. Writing for the class provides a great deal of relaxation and the literature takes us on newer adventures every day. Math tottering, on the other hand, helped me understand Calculus One better and because of that, my skills continue developing in the course. This was possible because I was able to link one course to another and could link the concepts and understand both of them better. Besides these subjects, college also taught me how to struggle and find answers on my own. It taught me to take accountability for my education and greatly reduced my reliability on teachers when it came to the concern of excelling in the course content. The activities taking place around campus also provided me with opportunities to interact with my fellow college mates and helped me identify ways to balance my recreation with the study.
