The world is fast becoming a global village besides becoming more traversable with regards to the technological improvements that are currently being experienced in the transport industry. Pointedly, it is now exceptionally easy to visit various destinations than it was in the past. Since I was 9 years old, I have visited many countries inclusive of Thailand, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, German and the United States of America. Every time I visited countries, I felt that all county are different. However, all people have similar opinions and probably view things from the same perspective except for the slight differences which are as a result of the various factors such culture. Notably such visits have unquestionably enabled me to interact with several people of different cultures; interactions that I am exceedingly certain with help me professionally especially because I am interested in studying international relations.
I decided to study in the United States of America to have wide experience. This was after considering whether to pursue a major Business or International. This consideration took place long term break from serving in the Korean military service. I made up my mind to pursue a career in International. If the International Studies Department gives me the chance to become a student in International Study major, it will be undoubtedly an honor for me (and my family). I am particularly certain that I can manage through the program since my life is built on determination. My previous world experiences have taught the essence of determination. My previous job placements include an interpreter job position in Korea and a position in the strategy planning department. In the military, my role was communicate with the Boeing company and work with different countries such as Japan, China, and the United States of America.
What are your current thoughts about a future vocation or profession?
I feel more interested in health and development than other issues. I was not paying attention too much about such issues before because I thought it is just happening in different countries and did not feel any responsibility. I have always been empathetic; being of help to people intrigues me in an unusual manner. Additionally, I always pay much attention such to international issues and news about related topic. To me, taking classes for international studies promises me a better future in a profession that I honestly want to be in. I think these classes which I will be taking will change my future vocation a great deal.
Upon getting a job, I plan to dedicate a portion of my salary to help in touching the lives of various people who genuinely need such help, particularly people in Africa, Bangladesh, and other developing countries. I am also thinking that I can post such issues on my own web pages including the social media to make people more paying attention to the international issues where many people need our help. I believe that all people have basic human rights such as access to clean water, food, education, shelter among other basic human needs. I find it disheartening that some people cannot access food, clean water, education and other important things in life. My ideology is that because we are all precious being, we should share with other people and this regard I am hopeful that my vocation will enable me be of help to such people my vocation is that I will attend to help people.
