This paper will focus on the use of information systems in different organizations. The two organizations where the paper will be focused will be Google and Amazon. They are different because they fall in different trade categories.
The two organizations, Google and Amazon make use of information in different cases. Google is an IT company that deals with storage and making information available. They have a lot of data and information that needs to be shared with the users. They make sure that they have latest search and information that is available for their users. Most information is stored in large data centers which are used by users for various uses will have to be made available to the users in an efficient manner. Google makes use of information systems to share their data banks. Information systems help the company have a way in which they will be able to share their systems and information systems.
On the other hand, Amazon is an e-commerce company which deals with selling items to clients on an online platform. They have different information systems in place that have played a vital role in their business processes. The need and the use of information systems for the two organizations show something that is totally different. For Google, they are looking for reliability and efficiency in their use of information systems. The data they have in their data centers have to be available to the clients, when they need it. Amazon would like to have secure systems that will enable them to make transactions that the clients will be able to trust. To Amazon, speed and reliability are significant components that they would like to achieve with the use of information systems. They use information systems in order to have better ways in which clients can receive their goods that they have purchased from Amazon. The faster the procedures, the better for the company. They want to ensure that they achieve the efficiency and the speed that they want in the entire process (Laudon, & Laudon, 2011).

The use of information systems has enabled the company to communicate with the company and enabled them to have a good business process. Decision making is a significant process for Amazon. They have to make sure that they understand the products that they can offer online. The use of information systems has helped the company to understand how goods are purchased and the time it takes for the goods to reach the client. With the use of data mining procedures, Amazon can understand the feedback from clients regarding the process. Amazon has been able to know which goods are best sold online and which ones are sold offline best.
Google makes use of information systems to make important decisions. The decisions they make is the strategy that they will use for the day-to-day running of the business. They will have to make decisions regarding the security of users’ data. They also use information systems to monitor the security aspect of the data they have in their data centers.

Having this information will help to understand the business strategy and the customer needs. They also make use of information systems to communicate with the clients. They have to understand what the clients want and have ways in place to ensure that they understand the requirements of the clines in order to offer them the services that they need.

IS use and security threats
Google has been known to make use of information systems in their internal operations for a long time. They are keen on making use of internal information systems in order to monitor the status of the users. The employees are also managed by Google with the use of information systems. Google has been known to have updates on their products and are keen on how they interact with the customers.
Google has computer threats that lurk in their systems and information use. One of the security threats that lurk within the company is the safety of the data that is stored. It has not been knowing how unused data is stored in the company. They have data centers that are distributed all over the world. The data breach that is possible to happen in the given situation is loss of control of the data centers. If the data centers are lost and the control of the data centers are lost to criminals, it will mean that Google Company will lose the data in those data centers. The control of the data centers will now be in the hands of competitors.
Amazon has also been known to have updates on their online platform. Amazon have managed to install APIs in their communication platforms with the clients. They ensure that they have managed to get to the users through professionally-developed interfaces. They have developed apps that are linked with the internet platform to enable the clients to make purchases on the go. These developments show that there are internal systems that have been developed by the company that will enable them to have better management and enhancement of the processes for the whole company.
One of the data breaches that is possible with this company is the handling of transaction data while it is being accessed. If the user is intercepted while buying, it will affect the transaction and the client will lose control of the transaction. It is important to understand the requirements of the entire process of making purchases online. Computer crimes that might take place in this situation is the interception by intruders to the network and hijack the transaction process.
