Values exist, whether one recognizes them or not. However, life can be a lot more interesting, easier and engaging if one acknowledges their values. Arguably, this is what basically happens when one makes decisions and plans that honor them. Throughout my life I have acquired a set of values which include ideas and beliefs that have continually served the right purpose. It has been of great importance to me especially in enabling me to find the most satisfying jobs. When defining my values, it is of paramount importance to discover what is truly important to me, an excellent way of setting off this process is to look back on my life and identify the times I felt really confident and good that I was making real and good choices. Among the values affecting the type of job I find most satisfying are; being organized and analytical, consistency and security, warm and friendly, always organized and keen. I live my life in accordance with these set values so as to have a successful, happy and meaningful life. Therefore, taking my values into account when choosing the career of my choice is arguably the most profound coherent factor that determines whether I will or I won’t be satisfied with that aspect in my life (Kennedy, 2013, p. 165).
Being Organized and Analytical
I am the kind of person who pretty much likes being conscientious, methodical and efficient. I find it fun working in an environment where I can set high standards for myself and for others as well so as to create a competitive and dynamic environment all together. I take pride in my ability and accuracy to pay attention to the outlined details depicting certain aspects that I am working on. In addition to that, I also enjoy theories, ideas and researching to a large extent. I trust that I will work in environments that are structured, well-organized and ordered. Close to that, my conscious and methodical values I posses will also enable me to enjoy work that will allow me to deal with data processing, numbers and record management which means that I will enjoy working with computer based aspects of many workstations. In addition to that, I will also enjoy an occupation that has a rational aspect to them.
Consistency and Security
Consistency and security are among the things I value most in my career. I will be very comfortable in a working environment that offers me a feeling of job security and a career path that is consistent. Seemingly, I am likely to prefer predictable and steady advancement instead of unpredictable and rapid change. For this reason, I like using established methods that enable me to love and enjoy working in an environment where I feel that I can plan for my future. I am a warm and friendly individual who enjoys meeting new people and I feel at ease in numerous social situations. It is for all these profound reasons that I have a unique set of values that deserve a satisfying career. I often collect my thoughts at times when I am alone (Kraemer, 2011, p. 312). With this convention, I will be happiest when my life finally has a mix of opportunities to socialize and meet people and have time for myself. Subsequently, meeting very many people could leave me exhausted. However, if I spend a lot of time alone without personal interaction, I might feel very lonely.
I am very organized and I often take methodical approaches to my life. In everything I do, I am very thorough and skillful because I love doing things in the best way possible. My careful attention and methodical style show how it is important to me to avoid mistakes by doing things correctly. I do not like taking shortcuts in meeting deadlines; instead, I enjoy checking the details of my work. Many people may see me as a perfectionist but I believe that given a chance, I would work on an assigned work to the best of my ability.
