How Nike+ Application Works
The Nike+ running app has become rapidly recognized fitness tool as it acts as a comprehensive coach for everyday runners. The application lets runners keep track of their essential daily statistics along the exercising period. The Nike+ software comes with various other simple things that can be done using it, which makes the application suitable for persons training for upcoming races to those who just want to be fit.
The Nike+ app lets users listen to music as they undertake their training sessions or running. Music powers are exercising activities. Running while listening to favorite music has been made better. The app comes with the ability to stream directly Spotify within itself and an improved iTunes integration. There are no costs incurred for those who have subscribed to a premium version of the application. Listening to music while running is important as it acts as a unique type of distraction, lifts the effort of the runner, puts the runner “in the zone,” good music beats help athletes keep up with the pace, music elevates running mood, and it makes the runner want to run more ("7 Reasons You Should Listen to Music When You Work Out", 2013).
The application comes with a training component which is, in general, the training plans for 5k marathon. The coaching component is detailed and varies in length as from eight weeks to a whopping twenty-four weeks. Apart from the provision of a coaching component, users can customize their training programs based on their needs to assist them to reach their target. This is whether it will be involved with smashing the 5k or even stepping up for a marathon. Once a runner selects the distance they want to cover, the intensity of user’s several week long program from a beginner, intermediate, or the advanced training levels can be chosen. Every level will display the distances that are supposed to be covered through running week by week.
Run in color change helps runners to stay motivated through their running period. Badges are given whenever a new record is scored. For instance, one will be awarded if the runner runs the fastest 5K longest distance at the fastest pace. Apart from that, a voice has been included that sounds seemingly like a real person that will congratulate the runner for an excellent result. This might be a small touch, but it makes a big difference to daily runners who have set targets they want to achieve.
Nike+ app is also GPS enabled and does not require any sensors. The main advantage of this is that a runner can track routes, distances, pace, time spent, as well as see how one stack up against fellow runners ("Nike+ Running App", 2016). Through the use of the Nike+ application, a runner can be able to find decent and safe running routes. This is especially if an individual stay in a city. It is not easy to find decent and safe running routes if a person is new in a city. However, through the help of the app, this is easily achievable. The app helps locate good as well as accessible routes within a person’s area of stay. Through the use of Nike+ platform, the runner can be able to get the path’s distance, the number of athletes who use the route, and estimated time (Alger, 2014).
Lastly, the application allows social media sharing of pictures and also runs. Photos can be taken using the application. An individual can choose to tag friends using the Nike+ run stats, and the pictures will be shared across all your social channels. Nike+ application has brought some life to running and other forms of daily exercising.
