Importance of compliance with HR law in business
HR and employment laws basically define what employers and employees are responsible for at the workplace, and in most cases, delineate government regulations to guide both parties concerned toward conflict resolution. Once the laws are in place, they enable business organizations to dedicate more of their concentration and time on production and profit making instead of spending significant resources and energy on solving workplace issues (Mahew, 2015). HR laws help small and medium entrepreneurs become aware of their responsibilities toward their employees. They dictate fair employment practices to employers including giving equal opportunities to men and women irrespective of their nationality, religion sex or disability thus ensuring fairness to all potential employees. Some of the labor laws also help in preserving organizational integrity and are useful for framing workplace ethics and business principles there by boosting the image of the organization (“Human Resources in Research and Practice the RQ Reader,” 2011).
Benefits of Human Resource Management in organizations
Human Resource Management in an organization encompasses planning, developing, and administering programs and policies designed to make prompt use of the Human Resources of the organization. It is also concerned with the individuals at the workplace and with the relationship of the individuals with one another within the organization (Noe, 2012). The main goal of Human Resource Management in an organization is to maximize its productivity by optimizing the efficacy of the employees while at the same time improving their work life and treating them as the most valuable resources. Human Resource Management of an organization also effectively links the functioning of its human resources with that of the strategic objectives of the organization toward improving the overall performance of the organization (Bradley, 2015). Strategic Human Resource Management in organizations also helps to promote camaraderie and team spirit within the organization. Strategic vision of a company ideally relies on inputs from many stakeholders including investors, customers, managers and other employees. Therefore, creating an Human Resource strategy that perfectly aligns with a sense of free and open communication would have the benefit of making all stakeholders feel as though their opinions and views are valued and hence meaningful to the business owners and executives.
