Unions are organizations formed with the aim of bring forth understanding of certain issues that may be major concerns of a given group. This paper aims at analyzing the unions and how they are formed to match the needs for which they have been developed. It specifically gathers information from student unions. These unions undergo extensive process during formation since they have to define their clear goals towards their excellence in the activities that they wish to undertake. Unions are mainly known of the bargaining power, which ensures that they succeed on following up certain critical elements. However, there are other functions that they execute in their service to ensure that the targeted goals or missions of the union are achieved. Students who are exposed to extensive decisions by their teachers need to understand the significance of unions. Student unions have similar obligations as other unions formed in a bid to represent a given group of people.
Our national labor relations board is the main body representing all workers in the region. It is supposed to fight for their rights, well as raise their grievances to the national government. As an organization fighting for human rights, it faces exclusive challenges and obtains extensive merits. This is one of the bodies that the government extensively monitors, since it aims at satisfaction of all employees. I agree with the operations of the of the NLRB.
The first element that makes this board reliable and acceptable in the region is its representation of all employees. The board has been critical in defining reliability among employees in the region. It has been a representative for the employees who have been mistreated at work. It has ensured that employers do not manipulate employees in the sense that they are the bosses to certain people. All situations of contracts should be respected as they were initiated. They ensure that employees are not allocated duties that are not in line with the signed contract (Getman, 2005).
The second element that makes this board highly reliable is representation of employees to the government. The board acts as the link between the government and the employees. For public servants, the board ensures that the government offers reliable environment for excellent performance in their jobs. The government must provide all needed facilities to ensure that the employees are not exposed to risk that may better their exclusive performance in their duties. All employees must be exposed to excellent environment that is friendly to performance (Getman, 2005). The union has to be in exclusive bid to ensure all needed facilities are required.
In addition, the board has been extremely keen on following up the activities of employees in private companies. Private businesses are known as the mainly affected places of work. This is because, the owners of the companies believe that they have overall control of the flow of activities. At some point, the fail to recognize the significance of employees and in return they expose them to exclusive challenges. One of the main challenges that they experience is poor remuneration. It is the role of the board to push for proper treatment of employees. The environment of work must be up to the required standards. If they do not match the needed standards the union takes necessary step towards ensuring that the right environment has been created (Saris, 2007). In addition, it ensures that all private employees are paid accordingly based on the terms of the contract.
