HubSpot is based in Cambridge, and it was founded by Bran Hulligan and Darmesh Shah. They were highly moved by the transformative impact of internet on small businesses. Internet has had a lot of impact on business, and from HubSpot’s perspective the most intriguing thing is how internet has changed the shopping nature and subsequently the shaping of vender funnels.
How internet marketing has changed the salesperson role
Internet marketing has utterly changed the role of a sales man. Sometimes back, companies and individuals who were interested in buying a product or a service had to come to direct contact with key vendors sales persons who provided the general information about the product, as in page 124.
How a prospect is more qualified in making purchasing decisions
According to HubSpot a customer is more qualified to make a purchasing decision about a product after acquiring the necessary information from the internet. According to the information in page 426, for a prospective customer to make a purchasing decision, it involves a long process of evaluating and collecting the necessary information about the product. Internet sources of insight are usually the first to be considered. There is a lot of information about products in the internet and people who have previously used the products write reviews. In addition, prospective buyers turn to external sources when their experience or knowledge about the product is limited. To some extent I would not agree to HubSpot because of the information above, and unless a customer has previous experience with the product, he would still gather more information from outside sources.
How a salesperson’s decision might different
Traditionally, sale persons were the only people who were exceptionally well informed about the product. Thus, salesmen compensation was extremely crucial since customers directly engaged with them in the first stages to gather product information. Today; Internet provides the essential information that a sales person used to provide. However, according to the information in page 727, I both cases sales persons are involved although at different stages.
Should a small business depend on internet promotions
Although internet promotion is one of the best options, small businesses should not solely rely on internet promotion. There are other methods of advertising that can help widen the market. According to the information in page 542, it is possible for customers to connect with international customers through trade leads, trade missions and trade intermediaries.
Internet marketing has brought a lot changes in the marketing structure and a lot of small business from all over the world are able to meet clients through the internet. Internet has simplified marketing, and it has made all the processes uncomplicated and efficient.
