Explain how human activities have
led to disconnect between ourselves and species?
Connection is the idea suggested by the need to belong. A person, for instance, needs to feel connected to someone to be able to realize his personal worth of existence. On the other hand, he also needs to be connected to his environment to be able to determine the essence of his existence towards the elements surrounding him. However, there are instances when such desire to belong is questioned by the desire to survive. Survival is another aspect that characterizes the desire of humans to go on and move forward towards development.
When it comes to survival, the need to recognize the essentiality of sacrifice becomes necessary. The process of exchanging the value of a specific element in exchange for a much more important one is a determinable course of thinking. It is however during this process that humans become disconnected to their environment and to some of the people that surround them. Take for example the process by which one grows into adulthood. It becomes necessary for one to leave home to be able to live on his own and decide on matters that would affect the way he establishes his personality and his being.
On a larger scale, the disconnection of humans with the environment in order to pursue dreams that characterizes their desire to embrace modernity affects a larger scale of human population than compared to personal decisions carried on to account by each individual every day. Take note of how decisions are made when the option of creating industrialized locations come in place. An agricultural land that is supposedly dedicated to tending plants and tending animals for food and clothing products becomes compromised when humans decide that such locations need to be changed into industrialized areas. As a result to such decision, humans sacrifice some of the most important elements of their environment in order to realize the fulfillment of their dreams especially in relation to how they want their environment to look like. At times, such activities are assumed as careless of what might happen next. One particular proof to this is the emergence of global warming due to the careless wasting of the natural resources available in nature. Industrialization and the continuous sacrificing of environmental elements like trees, the denudation of forests and the continuous trashing of rivers to pave the way for the emergence of factories and other facilities that are supposed to create the material things that humans want to live with.
Exploitation of the surrounding environment has become a common practice among humans especially when they like to accomplish something that they think they would need to survive and be satisfied with life. Lacking the desire to seriously take into account what would happen in the future or how they would fare in the face of nature’s wrath, humans often choose to be detached from nature and from other living species for the sake of being attached to their personal desires that they believe would satisfy their living process. There are instances when such decisions hurt their surroundings largely therefore causing a distinct impact on the way they live their lives as well. Overall, several human activities deemed necessary by humans themselves have created a great barrier between human living and the connection they have with other living species.
